Thanks BZ!

"... uninhabited mountain chains will be uprooted and thrown into space where, as satellites, they will serve as observatories from which giant telescopes will scan the heavens."

I love this stuff.

The Somerville forecast is great; it's a common theme in Sci-Fi, but it makes you wonder if Bradbury read this book.

Arthur Clarke won?

Any more from his predictions?

"Whatever the organisation of the social system, working hours will be reduced to the vanishing point: The machine will have set man free from the curse of Adam."

It came true! Now more people than ever are unemployed! Woo hoo!

Where we are today is dramatically different than 1940, though not quite along the lines Clarke outlined. Thanks for posting.

Future Fiction contained the artwork of lots of artists who are best remembered today for their work in comic books.

A quick check of the interior illustrations of the first four issues revealed the work of: Charles Biro, Mort Meskin, Jack Binder, Lin Streeter, Irv Novick, and Frank Paul.

I love the cover painting by JW Scott.
