I like the artwork Blaine was producing in the 1920's much more than what he was doing when he illustrated the Burroughs books later in his career. I have a much better appreciation of Blaine's work now that I have seen more of his early work. Next time I'm in a used book store I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for volumes he illustrated.
