Man, I'm all over the place buying. I tried to stay focused on only a couple of titles like Amazing Spider-Man and Iron Man and the next thing, I'm spending money on "Crisis on Infinite Earths" because I like those covers a lot, then onto "Marvel Spotlight with the Werewolf, Miller Daredevils and then the next thing I'm buying Arrgh! issues.

I'm better at staying focused now, but I still stray all the time.

I was in some rinky dinky little comic shop i found by accident today, and while i took a little tour through the heroclix displays, the action figures, and the abundant toystuff, i glanced up to the wallcomics. Avengers, Hulk, ASM, Wolverine, Master of kung fu, Ghost rider, ASM, ASM, ASM, ASM, ASM, ASM, more wolvie....something wasnt right. shocked.gif Where the [!@#%^&^] is all the DC stuff??? I had been so sucked in by the gleam of all these bronze and modern age marvel beauties, that for a few moments, i forgot about DC!!!! 893whatthe.gif Believe it or not, I, a DC man, was on the verge of making his first marvel purchase in years. Thank god that out of the corner of my eye i noticed a silver age flash and a worlds finest. Whew!!! tongue.gif Once i regained my composure i made a das for the door and swore to never again let my mind be controlled by Marvel ever again. cool.gif

Hi...my name is Rick...and I'm a comicholic... shy.gif

27_laughing.gif thanks for the response guys! I feel a lot better about things knowing that I am not the only one, but even to look at my past purchases this month (which just got way out of hand):

1 - $265 on 3 original art pages and one Robin sketch from Norm Breyfogle

2 - $180 today on a case of Byrne Superman #1 (how could I resist! I have a collection of cases of sealed books!)

3 - $245 on a bunch of SA batman from the last con

4 - $80 for some great BigMan Batman's (thanks again!)

5 - $20 for a Ghosts 57 (the last one I needed)

6 - $60 on some overstreets!

7 - $50 on a killer Zeck commission

Total % of spending on furthering the run: 36.1%

This has definitely been a horrible month with discretion thrown to the wind, but I still end up buying a lot more than I should in terms of absolute dollars and money spent on the run . . . Especially when I consider that I could have gotten some really nice Bats for that kind of coin, but heh, the Breyfogle pages and sketch are killer, I needed the Ghosts 57 and was tired of waiting, the Zeck commission was practically a freebie since I made a deal with Mike for a commission of a headshot of Batman and Robin for 1/2 price if I put in a crazy snipe on the Two-Face Az 96 cover, and for $60 you can get a whole slew of overstreets!

I'll keep you guys posted, but I think I might seriously use these boards as an emotional support to stop buying stuff tongue.gif Okay, at least to make sure I really want the purchase! grin.gif

Someone with a lot of spare cash...and maybe no wife to check what you are spending it on grin.gif

Man, I would be pushed to spend that much on comics in a year... frown.gif

Even though you bought a lot of books Tom, you did seem to stay relatively focused. Some real nice stuff there...congrats on the pick ups.

now tom, what exactly is it that you do again? 893scratchchin-thumb.gifnice buys BTW laugh.gif

I am a man whore who services the rich women of Long Island...... shocked.gif

Or

I am in sales and the spring/summer is very lucrative, so my comic expenditures commensurate with the influx of cash. However, the winter is not nearly as remunerative so my comic purchases decrease proportionally.

Take your pick smirk.gif
