OT (kinda)- Photobucket question

3 posts in this topic

total technoboob wondering if there's a way to put a "sold" banner on my photobucket images. was thinking of something like vintagecollectables.net employs. thanks.

What I did for the VCC was upload a 'sold' image and then just change the URL when the book's sold.

You could do it two different ways with Photobucket:

1)When a book is sold go to your photobucket album and delete the book's image, then upload a new image with the "Sold" banner across it. As long as the image you delete and the replacement image you upload have the exact same file name (like "Book1.jpg") the url stays the same (YourPhotobucket/Book1.jpg).

Or...

2) Create a new photobucket "sub album" named "Sold" (or whatever) for images of books with the Sold banner. Then swap out the pre-sold url for the "sold" url (YourPhotobucket/Sold/Book1.jpg)

Looks like Vintagecollectables.net uses the second method, with small thumb size "Sold" images from a different "sold" sub album. Click their "sold" thumbnail image and it takes you back to the original (url) full size image, without a banner.
