FIRST COMIC POST, EVER. NEED INFO ON 1940 METAL BATMAN COVER

A friend just picked up a 1940 copyright metal Batman cover. She says that it is in excellent condition, (I haven't seen it yet. Hopefully I will have a scan shortly.) and that it is a copy of the #1 Spring issue. Was wondering how collectible these items are. Can anyone help?

Some tin signs were reissued circa 1979(?) of golden age DC covers like Action, Batman 1, Detect 38 (Robin). May have original 1940 copyright date inscribed on the metal.

Dark Adv. on eBay (krypto2000) sometimes sells these.
