I Smell A Scan...

What does a scan smell like? confused-smiley-013.gif

And, in my opinion, this seller stinks worse than Khaos the day after he eats Mexican food (which is worse than he normally does).

Someone left the following feedback for her and then left a follow-up note to it:

Praise: WOW!Comic lot included Amazing Fantasy #15 Spiderman 1'st Appearence WoW

Follow-up: - Comics are back up for sale under ebay id fevrish take a look.

Yeah......sure.......I'll buy that.......legitimate sellers will often throw in an unexpected copy of AF #15 so the buyer will be sure to mention it in the glowing feedback they leave........then the buyer will normally advertise that they're flipping the books in the follow up. 893naughty-thumb.gif

What does a scan smell like

Put your nose right up to your monitor and take a deep wiff.

THAT'S what a scam smells like.

How does sniffing your monitor tell you what a "scam" smells like. I asked what a "scan" smelled like. 893naughty-thumb.gif

Actually he's right... except I would take a whiff from the back of the monitor... better ozone content there...

I'm just glad my buyers don't mention all the free porn I give away...

"Great Silver Age Batman! And some cool stuff to add to the spank bank!" *shudder*

I don't know whether it's a scam or not, but I followed the original auction by cutiepie & was ready to bid at the end, until the price got too high. It had a poor quality photo with a bunch of books piled up in it. The Amazing Fantasy 15 wasn't even on top. It looked like she didn't know much about comics, as she had some Showcase issues that she referred to as Metal Men 37, 38 etc. & I believe she referred to the Fantasy 15 as Spider-Man 15. To me it looked like an uninformed person that had somehow gotten a load of comics. The books were relisted by the person who won the auction a couple of weeks later, he included scans of many of the individual issues that showed the true condition & I believe he had a reserve that was not met. I had just been burned on buying a large collection on ebay & couldn't quite pull the trigger on this one, as it did look somewhat suspicious.

That FF1 book looks pretty nice....but with payment by check or money order and NO REFUNDS this looks pretty shady to me. Books such as this have to be put up with a reserve. This CutiePie (this has to be a guy) can't be that dumb.

MCD...just wondering. Was the high bid on the second auction (the winner of Cutie Pie's) alot more than what he won the books for, or about the same? Thanks.

It's just WAY too fishy for me. If she was "uninformed" about what she's selling........then it must just be the biggest coincidence in the history of the world that she's selling the silver-age major keys (and Hulk #181) in individual auctions and puts several other books together in a lot. It's also amazing that she lucked out and only bought books that would turn out to be great investements from that time period and avoided the junk. confused-smiley-013.gif

Private auctions......low feedback seller......payment by check or money order and no refunds........ 893naughty-thumb.gif

And payment by check or money order MUST be received within 3 days from auction end...

That is sage advice. I should apply it to you, it would save me much trolling grief. tongue.gif

Actually, the last responses were not trolling responses! I'm trying to change my ways! 893crossfingers-thumb.gif
