Aside from the nasty splotches of this ink rubbing (looks like something sticky was left on the book and, when removed, took some of the cover with it) there are those three creases in the upper left corner of the back cover (first scan). Otherwise, though, the book is solid. Pretty sharp corners, aside from a ding on the top edge of the spin, and it looks very flat. But it is done in by all those splotches -- although I have no idea how they would bring down the grade, I have to assume they do. Would it be considered discoloration?

According to the guidelines printed here at Gemstone's website, the only mention of this sort of phenomenon is in the 0.5 Poor description: "May have extremely severe stains, mildew or heavy cover abrasion to the point that some cover inks are indistinct/absent." But come "cover abrasion" must be allowed in higher grades. Right?
