Need some help grading HawkMan 2

I'll edit the post and make another so the both attachments show up in the thread.

I was thinking 9.0(VF-NM for the old folks like me).

Just a little softness bottom spine corner and top right corner.

Tiny wear along top.

Off-white/maybe Off-white to white pages.

Does the ink transfer form another book on the back cover lower the grade?

I've heard Wonder Bread can help with this... gossip.gif

This is for sale btw-

I've put it here instead of the Marketplace because I wasn't sure of the grade.

I was thinking of submitting to CGC but I'd rather send in a Marvel. grin.gif

I thought I had sold all my DCs but I forgot I put this in my Marvel high grade/early Silver box because it was a nice copy.

I could only put up life-size scans because of the 150KB limit but I have nice larger scans for anyone interested.

Nice book aces...I love those early Hawkman covers....however I believe the book has enough flaws on it to bring it down to a 7.5 VF- grade...

It looks like there is more than ink transfer happening on the back cover as the scans hint at some staining or foxing..(wonderbread may help)...and the corner blunting and minute creases drop the grade...

Yeah. 9.0 is a little optimistic. The corner flaws coupled w/ the back cover stains will keep it out of that range. I think Araich is right, 7.5. 8.0 if you're lucky. The URHC is too dinged up.

I thought the ink transfers might bring it down to the VF range.

Yeah... One area of a small stain back cover on the non-spine edge about a third from the bottom.

All the rest of the back cover trouble is ink transfer.

Just how do you use the "Wonder Bread solution"?

Do you rub hard or light?

A big handful or small amounts at a time?

Never done it before... smirk.gif
