Can anyone explain why this wasn't Qualified?

In a perfect world, they would provide full label notes of all defects, a Q grade (where appropriate), and a "real" grade on all books.

I always thought that the Qualified labels should be given to books where the defect wasn't obvious. For example, a cut coupon or Marvel Stamp, or a tear on the back cover (that could be overlooked by someone).

 

Something like this, where the hole all the way through is obvious, should get the regular label.

 

But I agree with the decision to have it restored. It'll really be a beauty!
