After a long wait, finally received from @joeypost my 24 Spirou ("Spee-roo") order. Here are the key highlights in numerical order: Spirou 720 - First appearance of Marsupilami in the shadows - CGC 9.2 tied for highest graded copy (French edition) Spirou 721 - First full appearance of Marsupilami (and cover!) - CGC 9.4 single highest graded copy (French edition) Spirou 1071 - First appearance of the Smurfs - CGC 9.6 Belgium Edition single highest graded copy (also received Belgium edition in 9.4 & 9.2) Spirou 1072 - Second appearance of the Smurfs and 1st cover - CGC 9.6 Belgium Edition single highest graded copy (also received Belgium edition in 9.4 & 9.2 + French edition in 9.4) Spirou 1107 - First solo Smurfs story in the excessively rare uncut Black Smurfs supplement - CGC 9.4 single highest graded copy and only one on census Spirou 1130 - First appearance of Gargamel & Azrael in the excessively rare uncut Smurfnapper supplement - CGC 9.4 highest graded copies (x2) Spirou 1460 - First appearance of the Smurfette - CGC 9.0 highest graded copies (x2) I handpicked those over many years before finally deciding to get them graded. Very happy with the grades. Also big kudos to CGC for putting the supplement in Spirou 1107 & 1130 over the back cover in the slab (instead of inside the magazine). Those supplements from 1959 are quite rare since readers were instructed to cut them to make a mini-comic book...

More than 18 months! Can't wait to see the grades on the numerous Spirou 1071/1072 I sent to Joey and CGC (including two high grade 1130 with the rare loose supplement flyer with first appearance of Gargamel & Azrael) But given the TAT on magazines, better be zen about it

Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...
Frederic9494 replied to PeterPark's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Never thought that Frank Robbins' Milton Caniff style fitted the super-hero genre. Only character where I though he did well was Batman... especially the cowl with collar (similar to the recent Batman movie)
