Outside my Means
If I don't budget am I allowed to buy it?
When I didn?t budget I bought it. The night the local toy store opened at midnight for the all new Star Wars: The Phantom Menace toys I spent $550.00. I have stopped collecting Star Wars unless it is what I would consider high end, and then I have to budget for it. I especially budget for the auctions I have been participating in, most recently was the auction for the New Mutants #98 Signature Series in a 9.9. That was immediately taken out of my hands.
I bid and won on my first original piece of artwork. Once it arrived at the house I took it to a frame shop I am comfortable with and had it framed. It?s beautiful. It was also within my means, the next piece isn?t. I am afraid in this hobby there are so many things out there I can?t afford. At this moment the comic book on top of this list is a Daredevil #7 in a 9.2.
There were two different comics up for auction at the same time. They were Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #1 in a 9.9 and a Web of Spider-Man #1 in a 9.9. I want them both. One would add to a series I am trying to collect and the other is probably one of my top ten favorite covers. I knew I could bid on one and only one. Normally these auctions end at separate times and I tend to skip the first one to bid on the second one only to lose out in the bidding on the second when I most likely would have one on the first. Does that make sense? Sometimes I look at this as saved money, other times I think OK what should I get now? Ooh look, the Human Fly and Rom.
Thanks for reading.

PS. Once again for anyone collecting the Human Fly and Rom I am sorry.
