Bulk CGC Goldmine Found

Added 22 Sensational She-Hulk in one claim

I'd been picking up rogue She-Hulk titles of the CGC 9.8 variety that I found at affordable prices while on my quest to obtain a complete run of Savage She-Hulk in 9.8 (only have one to go!).

As my Savage She-Hulk search is winding down I started to look around at the other She-Hulk titles I own and figured my next goal would be to fill in the other She-Hulk runs, with a priority on Sensational She-Hulk first. Sounds reasonable in my head.

I have every issue non-graded and it didn't take long to figure out since I've read all my issues, most several times, not to mention they're my reference library as well, there were no real candidates for grading in the Sensational series. So I plucked a few dozen from the newer series' that I hadn't yet had graded along with a few other rogue issues, including a handful from my brother and two from a co-worker, and shipped them off to CGC for the pre-screen service.

Meanwhile...I'd been eyeballing a series of Sensational She-Hulk CGC 9.8 comics that Showcase New England has had on ebay for a while. At one point, many Banner-to-Hulk transformations ago, I inquired if they could work a deal if I wanted 22 of their 23 issues (I already had one of them). They told me they really don't make much on modern comics so there wasn't really any room for flexibility, which I understood completely.

As time went on I continued to try and justify just purchasing the 22 issues at the $45 BIN but the shipping was going to add up. A few weeks ago their monthly re-list went up and this time it was free-shipping included. I didn't know what I would do. Then another crazy thing happened...the books were taken down and relisted at .01 but with a reserve around $30 and still free shipping. That turned the tide because now that they were out there for anyone to outbid me on I risked not having a shot at these issues again so I bid and met the reserve.

Then an even crazier thing happened...with a few days left the auctions were all ended early including almost all of their other auctions from what I could tell. I was in panic mode. Had they decided to stop using ebay? Had someone bought them out from under me? I took a last try and contacted them letting them know I was still interested.

They responded that they were $30 each, free shipping still in tact. I picked the 22 I needed and two days later they were here. Just that quickly I went from 5% complete to 45% complete and still have my pre-screen order of non Sensational titles to look forward to.
