Marvel Silver-Age square-bound comics? I don't think this is caused by moisture damage (I would have seen moisture marks on the paper). I have seen this also occur on some (but not all copies) of Marvel Super-Heroes #12 also. I don't consider this a defect, but something that may have been caused during the original printing process.

I have attached scans of the covers, hopefully it clearly shows what I'm referring to.

Please share any experience you've also had with this strange occurrence.
