Spine Waviness/Warping on Marvel Silver-Age Square-Bound Comics

I have a nice higher grade copy of Marvel Super-Heroes #13 (1968) that has quite a bit of warping and waviness running along the entire length of the spine. Has anyone seen this on other.. Marvel Silver-Age square-bound comics? I don't think this is caused by moisture damage (I would have seen moisture marks on the paper). I have seen this also occur on some (but not all copies) of Marvel Super-Heroes #12 also. I don't consider this a defect, but something that may have been caused during the original printing process. I have attached scans of the covers, hopefully it clearly shows what I'm referring to. Please share any experience you've also had with this strange occurrence. Cheers!
