Look what I found at my LCS...

I was at my Local Comic Shop yesterday picking up new issues...Infinity 1, and Uncanny Xmen 10. While there I got to talking with the owner, who I have known for 17 years now, and I mentioned how much the prices have gone up on Avengers 55 due to all the hype surrounding the upcoming Avengers 2 movie. I have a VG copy that I had bought from him like a year ago for only 10 bucks...he told me he had just sold a VG copy last week to someone for 50...crazy. He then tells me he has a couple more copies, one in NM minus that he was keeping for himself, and one in VF he was going to sell. He brought out the lesser grade copy from the back for me to look at, and it was every bit a F copy with great VF potential...very nice. He said it was mine for 100 bucks, knowing I could resell it right now for more than 200. It was tempting, but I passed.

I went home and checked eBay...sure enough, F to VF copies were selling for over 200. I told my wife about this and she encouraged me to go ahead and buy it so this morning I went back and did just that. The book is pictured below...not the greatest photo I know, sorry. I made sure there was no restoration...my LCS had purchased it from the original owner who had bought it off the stands in 1968...and I took it out of the Mylar to thoroughly inspect it. There are a few creases that break color, some bends that can be pressed out, and the corners look nice...one drawback is the page quality which could be deemed cream to off white and I prefer to keep my collection free of cream pages, but then again for this price I really cant complain.

Now for my dilemma...what to do with this book. I could keep it, and recoup half my money by selling the VG copy I have. I could sell it now and double my money right away. I could hold onto it and sell it later, closer to when Avengers 2 comes out hoping to make more of a profit. I could get it pressed and graded and keep both copies. I could get it pressed and graded and sell it now while keeping the VG copy...since I am trying to put together a complete run of reading copies. I have an idea of which direction I want to go, but am interested in hearing your thoughts.
