Is it worth it for a CGC collector?

I have been going to the NY con forever. Since i was kid and i am 40+ now. But as i have gotten older i am very focused on collecting as opposed to browsing, or checking out the cultural event it has become. With the cost associated of flying, the tickets, hotels, and time spent. I have decided this year to invest that budget in my collection and forgo the CON.

I have to say i have been enjoying the smaller cons much more like orlando and miami etc.
