Is there a market for Archie comics right now?

We have inherited a huge collection of comics including a lot of Archie, Jughead, etc.  Looking at the records, our uncle was expecting to ask for over $200 on some of the Jugheads and That Wilkins Boy; however, I don't see that much of a market for them on Ebay right now.  Are these better sold at conventions or is there a network of private collectors for them?

I dont deal with many Archie collectors, but mcs has the book you posted- That wilkins boy 11 for $6 in Fine.

Either you are misreading your uncles records or he got ripped off.

There are a lot of people who grew up reading Archie so there are certainly collectors.  The problem is that Archie and his friends have been published for many many years in many different titles and there are very few collectors trying to complete runs.  Unless they are very early Archies, classic covers, first appearances, or double entendre covers they aren't very valuable.

Here's an ebay search for 'that wilkin boy' sorted highest to lowest, sold only.  The results would match my limited experience selling Archie comics of this era.  $5 to $10 is the general sale price and they move slowly at that price.  I'm wondering if the overstreet price guide price for these books is $200 in NM and your uncle assigned that price to the books.   Not an uncommon practice especially if someone isn't comfortable with grading.

Yeah not to sound mean but $200 is nowhere near what I would expect to get for all those books pictured. Personally, and this comes from someone who buys and sells frequently enough, if I had all those comics, I would hope for $100 and likely jump at $75 if it came my way.

Another indicator is have you had anyone reach out to you about buying them? If the desire isn’t there the value isn’t either. As others have mentioned, a lot of these books are only valuable if they have a first appearance, a double entendre cover or are simply classic old archies from the 50s. This all seems to be 60s and 70s stuff which, while old, does not hold a ton of value.
