No, I mean from when you claimed the ASM 9 from my previous FS thread a few weeks after you stiffed Roy and didn't pay. But yup, no worries.
Oh man Steve I honestly don’t remember that at all. I’m sure that happened but I don’t recall that. If that happens completely my fault. I don’t remember seeing an invoice but now I’ll go back and look.

Um, what? What happened…
Basically I definitely dropped the ball. Roy was shopping this list for Steve for some time. Prior to getting covid I agreed to buy a couple. Then I got a bad case and was basically down for the count for five weeks. Roy (and other people not on comics etc) texted me on a whole slew of issues and I just wasn’t responding. Never caught up and frankly didn’t pay much attention when I finally got back on my feet as I didn’t really come back to comics again until mid September (got covid in early July).
so anyway yes now I can understand why I’d be on Steve’s list and it’s def my fault for not circling back.

Chicago area forumites -- I am in chicago the next few days and along with some tourist things I'm doing with the family, I'm buying some collections and some individual books while there. If any other forumites have books (and generally I'm looking for higher end material grade wise, but would consider good eye appeal slabs or raw for early Marvels or DCs. And I'd also consider high grade runs of any popular 80s titles.
I am not cheap, so this is not a solicitation for me to buy material at 25% off GPA or whatever, but I also won't pay crazy numbers. If you have quality material then I will certainly pay at or over market. If it's lesser material then I'm probably a little under market.
Please PM me if you have anything you think I'd be interested and we can try and work something out to meet.

This year's Baltimore Comic Con is an incredible buying show. I spent a ton of money (and I mean a ton) and feel completely burned out -- and I probably didn't look through 40% of what's available. There's tons of great cheap raw, lots of keys and slabs and just an enormous amount of quality dealers looking to actually sell books.
Marc has done an excellent job putting it together and I have no doubt that tomorrow and Sunday there will still be an enormous number of great books left and deals. I could easily spend all day tomorrow and Sunday digging and finding stuff it's that good.
If you're looking for vintage and in the area, drop by. You won't be disappointed.

Nobody likes it when change in general occurs and certainly not when prices are raised. CGC is a business, not a charity and it's primary goal is to make money -- like every other business. The vintage comic market is hotter than ever and people are sending books in at a record pace. They've had to expand in order to meet demand and that obviously has costs, but the reason to do so is so that they can make more money. Just like the fact that the reason most people send books in for encapsulation is to increase their value. In the free market system we all have a choice -- we could 1) No longer submit and sell books raw. 2) Use a competitor 3) Continue to submit. Most people are going to choose 3. I have zero problem with the changes -- CGC has necessarily become more corporate over time -- raising prices is a further step in that direction. But the reality is, why shouldn't they be taking advantage of this market the same way most of us are? CGC has helped all of us for many, many years increase the value of our collections or businesses. They've become an essential component of this industry/business. If you are opposed to their actions or prices, you do have choices.

Thanks for the insight on the buy, and congratulations by the way. It has to be one of the better splashes from the run- with both main and both supporting characters in well rendered full body shots.
I only have a couple of Murphy pieces, I love him also- I wouldn't mind getting a couple more myself before I hang the gloves up.
Thanks! my favorite Murphy piece is the Hawkman 4 complete story (first Zatanna) which is just beautifully rendered. An incredible artist.

It really is an A+ level example but was surprised it went this high. I knew a few years ago the Donnellys got the MIS 75 splash (another A+) at a song, but this newest price seems very healthy.
Glad to see a SA Infantino splash get some decent love.
I'm the buyer on this -- I'm a huge Murphy fan and a huge fan of his MIS run, so I was willing to go up for it, there's not a lot of really good splashes on the market from this title. I have another splash that isn't as good but I did acquire recently for much less.

So that will bring things to a conclusion for one week. I plan to invoice tomorrow or Saturday and then pack and ship next week. In the past I've held onto stuff but the truth is it gets way too disorganized so I want to clear the decks and get everything out. I'll be using boxed priority mail flat rate unless for some reason all your books won't fit. Thanks for the purchases for this week, and I'll see you next Thursday.
