  1. Lol you think so? Only if someone humps the report button. it’s artwork. If they want to censor me it ultimately means that the artwork influenced their emotions. Which is what art is supposed to do.
  2. You have to be pretty good at this point. My favorite is when I’m at dinner and someone says draw me then hands me a sharpie. It’s like great thanks. Slightly off topic, a friend of mine is friends with an artist who is a die hard liberal (as most artists are). He loves to buy lunch for him but the guy can’t leave his booth. So I always make sure to do a drawing on the to go bag. He rips me but still has a great sense of humor about it. this is my political post of the day. Hope it doesn’t trigger anyone.
  3. Yep sorry I wasn’t more clear about that. I agree with you though. It’s executed perfectly. Every line has a purpose. And as artists that’s what we should aim for. Having said that, artists are crazy and ultimately will do whatever they want. It’s the game we play when commissioning someone. You know how that is.
  4. I think it’s the fact that his back is in the drawing that makes me see it as a 3/4 from the rear. Since you’ve pointed out that it’s more profile I’m actually more angry about it now. Since i despise profile sketches. See most neal adams....or maybe Adam Hughes is a better example of cutting corners.
  5. “Oh ya, don't go after anyone and to that point, Joe Rubenstein last year had a bunch of half started sketches... and I picked one for finishing, he started by doing one thing and I think may have ended with another. It was obvious it would be Logan, so I was happy, I asked if he'd give him a cigarette..... He labeled him "Happy Logan" when I picked it up But sometimes just knowing the intent of something takes the sting out of a "different situation", imo, from this experience I've learned that if Sinnot had a bunch of stuff out for sale, he probably just wanted to make each "unique for that day". While unintentional and not meaning to be difficult, he probably thought it was the most unique of the hour or day I'm glad you seemingly got through it ha. I'm glad you didn't say everything you were thinking at the time makes for a good story!“ Yea I’m not crushed over it. I’ll be ok hahaha. Joe Rubinstein is a cool guy. And that’s a good sketch, I’m sure it was a reasonable price too. Hes funny, he rips me every time I see him because he considers me to be too tall.
  6. Yes you are correct. It isn’t the complete back of his head. It’s not exactly a side view though is it. Since you can see the back of his head. It’s like a 3/4 shot but in reverse.
  7. Well, it’s the back of his head. So there’s that. Is it rendered very well? Sure. Is it the back of his head? Yea. Its not like Wolverine is charging him and Joe had to draw the Hulk with his back to the viewer. Again it’s just I expected a regular head sketch facing forward. I wasn’t expecting a full figure or anything. (Meaning my expectations weren’t that high)
  8. . Joe is a little old man. I can’t really go after him. Mark, his son, is a big dude. I CAN go after him. But yea neither of them were malicious. Nothing like Claremont losing his mind on me ......or Lee Weeks!
  9. Quality work in everything he does. If the drawing is wonky it still looks like a robot rendered it. Yes I still have it. It’s one of those things though where he had a wall of sketch covers that had normal looking hulks. And I said what the F happened with my cover, you got all those other ones face forward!???? I think they thought it was hilarious. And to be honest I chuckled until I remembered how much I paid for it.
  10. I too am an artist and can appreciate the line work. It is pencil which is crazy but with someone like Sinnott I have high expectations. REALLY HIGH. So I when the drawing was revealed I was like wtf.
  11. Ha it could be a What If? Book. What If Wolverine became a barber?
  12. Joe just laughed in my face. Which I thought was funny but I wasn't sure if I was being Punk'd. Sadly I wasn't, that was the actual sketch. The joke was on me!
  13. Ok maybe I yelled at him. And to put it into context I had picked up a sketch from Sinnott earlier that I was so excited to get. You know because that's pretty exciting to get a sketch from SInnott and I was pumped. It was a Hulk head sketch except it was the back of his head. Im like WTF is this? And I'm staring at Mark Sinnott and he says " Hey, don't yell at me... Yell at the artist" So there you go.
  14. They are and a lot would deserve it. At the show I was just referencing where Adam and I yelled at SInnott, I was waiting for Roy Thomas. I needed two books signed. I got there early to be number one on line. We all waited about an hour for him to finally show up. When Roy sets his stuff down he looks up at the line (about 100 people) and he decides to go for a 30 minute waltz around the convention center. When he finally returns he sits down and his handlers start accepting what looks to be 400 books from Desert Wind and Roy proceeds to sign them. How I didn't burn down the building that day escapes me.
  15. Didn't you and I go over to Joe and Mark Sinnott and yell at them? Ahahahaha
  16. I’m thoroughly enjoying this thread and hope to read more stories. I have too many to tell but here’s one. As everyone knows you do not give Chris Claremont a book to sign that has been window boxed anywhere other than over the logo. My boy Troy sent me a X Men 101 to get signed by him at NYCC several years ago. Window boxed in the middle of the book, dead center. I approach his table and I think I got out “ hi Mr Claremont........” before I got a profanity laced rant about how dumb I am for window boxing over that area. When he finished it was my turn. I said “ first of all it’s not my book, my friend sent it to get signed by you. I’m doing him a favor....I could give a flying F if you want to sign it or not” “Secondly, you don’t talk to me that way unless you want me to make you F’n cry in front of everyone” he then reluctantly signed it. It’s a shame it had to get there but Don’t let these guys ever talk to you that way. They’re not rockstars.
  17. I know, but it was the only book I had on me. And you’re not going to not get Sean Connery’s autograph. Right?
  18. No no this is good. Does the asian girl in the movie actually steal a diamond with d i k pics in it? Or did I misread that.
  19. Ha yea you kind of expect that, in the trailer you see her stomp some guys crotch. Full disclosure, I want the movie to do well especially for Robbie's sake since she's a producer. I just don't know if this was the right approach for success.
  20. Cardinal numbers huh? I initially read that as carnal. I dunno, I was hoping for the mega hot (and maybe a less campy) version of HQ. The movie is Rated R and what do they do? Remove the male gaze. It reminds me of Logan. You have an unbelievable opportunity to portray X-23 as a hot woman/prostitute and they make her a little girl
