  1. Here's a new one.   I didn't realize how terrible the new PMs are until I needed to search for a previous thread.

Oh sure you can find the top 5 real easy.   That's clear.   What about a PM thread a few pages deep?

I figured well theres the search function right there.  I can just enter the guys screen name (or a keyword) and it should pop up.  Right?  Wrong.

It seems we carried over the search function from the last site.  Great work! :golfclap:

EDIT* NVM.  I see I can scroll until I find it.  Its only slightly annoying (as opposed to having the list in full view)

  2. What a disaster of a movie.  I knew giving Mangold (or Hackgold as I refer to him) the opportunity to come back and properly destroy everything was a bad idea.

The opening scene and the hotel/casino scene were the only enjoyable aspects.  So two fights scenes.  It really amazes me to be able to watch a movie and know that every scene could've been improved in some way.   And whats with the nonsensical cursing? lol

I found this, it sums up my feelings perfectly

Thank you.  Not sure if you referenced that before, but if so it was definitely worth noting again.

I guess that issue will be glossed over until others point it out.

And it doesn't quote my original post.   :boo: Love the sub sections of the emojis too.

We got enough positive feedback about the new version that I just changed it to be the new default.

Is there a way to eliminate the row of 5 recent PMs (on the left side), so that I can view a PM conversation across the whole screen?

Otherwise its a compressed message section.   Similar to the boards before the revision.

This site's content area is set to 79% of the width of your browser (or 100% if it's below a width of about 1000 pixels) whereas the CBCS forum is hard-coded to a width of 980 pixels.  So no, this site is much better if your screen is significantly wider than 980 pixels.  My own screen is 1920 pixels at work and 3440 pixels at home, so this site is close to double the width of CBCS at work and close to 3 times wider at home.

But it should use the full width of your browser.  Sucks that it doesn't, but the CBCS site sucks far worse on bigger monitors.

Gotcha, I haven't even bothered visiting the site on my desktop yet.

I think my point was that CGC isn't doing themselves any favors.

On the upside, this board has a lot less dead white space than the CBCS boards.

I know that's of little comfort though

If you bring up their boards (and click back and forth as a comparison) theres a 1.25 inch border on each side.

    They suck equally now.

I can only assume they'll now adopt the darker grey message area to cut down on eye strain.

I like the idea of being able to customize it.   God forbid anyone asks us first.

They didn't learn their lesson from the new and improved slab debacle.

  7. Just got back.

Like a few have said, a slow start but the last 15 minutes are worth the price of admission.

Its a gritty story that doesn't sugarcoat anything so you can feel good after the movie.

If you go into this movie looking for that you won't find it. Personally, Im glad they found the balls to make it.

    8/10

  8. No, I didn't read it. I used my eyes and brain.

Right, so neither of us know at this point whether Abrams is planning on tying the series together in some way or if he's just teasing people with the Easter eggs.

He could tie Star Wars to Star Trek if he jumped through enough hoops. C'mon dude, this isn't rocket surgery.

Well he already put the Enterprise in Star Wars so you could say hes already done it.

  9. do you guys think that people returning books to have "re-done" should get 1st priority over people who have been waiting for their first books to get done?

are the "re-do" customers entitled to have orders done twice, while the rest of us are still waiting to get an order done once?

Absolutely they should get 1st priority. They've already went through the process. It would be like saying you have to go through the entire system twice. (meaning waiting the full amount of time) How is that fair?

  10. If I did that at the art school I graduated from I would've been potentially expelled, not called a genius.

And how does the school feel about Roy Lichtenstein?

The effete snobs loved him, the rest of us troglodytes thought he was a hack.

lol thats pretty funny. You like Rothko? http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2014/11/10/rothko-paintings-auction/18830733/

That's not really my type of work and to be honest I don't really appreciate it. I don't really feel the need to apply any deep meaning into a few color swatches and it doesn't enrich my life.

lol yea not for 75 million.
