  1. EC would've been proud of that one!.... Mind you ..it would've been censored to hell and back
  2. Finally for today. Another TV series I can just about remember...with the immensely good looking Efrem Zimbalist Jr., who was a real heart throb with the Mums over here I recall. Interesting connection is that he is the 'english' voice behind Alfred in my favourite take on the Batman mythology over any medium, i.e. BATMAN ANIMATED by WB These characters have to be the definition of 60's 'hip'
  3. Another series I remember as a boy. John McIntire also played the Sheriff policeman in Psycho...a fave film of mine too.
  4. -sigh- it makes up for me not being a sex machine any more Any more? Yes indeed good Doctor... A fave TV series when I was a lad

  6. wow, very nice looking 7.0. Thanks (thumbs u In all honesty, its not the most exciting of titles...TOMMY TOMORROW did'nt exactly set the world alight, in fact he's strictly YESTERDAY. However this book was dirt cheap, and I do collect Showcase, so thought I'd post it TODAY.
  7. Got 8 books in today. Will post the CGCs later. These 2 are the only raw...for my JOKER collection From 1962 and from 1960
  8. Good catch! It can't be easy to find nice copies of that book. I'd love to complete my run with a copy of it some day. Do you also have all the Showcase Sea Devils? Nicest 6.5 I've ever seen. Woo hoo! You're the only other person (besides myself) that I can recall posting a Sgt Bilko book on the boards. Celebrity humor may be the least popular genre here. Yeah, once again, I don't have #1. Do you have both runs (including Pvt. Doberman)? Nicest 4.5 I've ever seen. Jack Hi Jack. Thanks for your comments As regards Sea Devils...I bought a 1st appearance copy a coupla' weeks ago...so that's on the way, and I'll put it up when its here. As regards Bilko #1. I think there are 4 copies registered by CGC. I was lucky to get this, this is my first Bilko/Doberman issue from either title since I started collecting again. Many years ago I had a few copies (not #1) in raw in the pre-CGC days...can't remember what happened to 'em
  9. These came today From 1959 SHOWCASE 20 1st RIP HUNTER 6.5 also this... From 1957 #1 issue I love PHIL SILVERS & the BILKO Series, so when I saw this I had to have it. 4.5 but looks better
  10. Fab book! I like that a lot. The look on the Cop's face is priceless. Looks like he's modelling for the graemlin. Reminds me of a trip I had once, in my younger days.... I take it you don't mean a trip to the zoo Rather a trip?
  11. Fab book! I like that a lot. The look on the Cop's face is priceless. Looks like he's modelling for the graemlin.
  12. Ta (thumbs u Erm...Got about 18 books still to come before Xmas unless I get tempted again... More Showcase to come and a few interesting Number ones. Just don't want to mention anything by name...don't want to jinx the Mail. I'm supersticious like that props! you must be chuffed to get all those at once I was...sometimes I'm expecting stuff..nothing arrives one week, then the next a shed load arrives...like buses...you wait at the stop for ages (in England anyway) and nothing for hours.. then three show up at once!

  14. From 1961 1st GA Flash in SA. Origin of both. 1st mention of Earth II WHITE PAGES
  15. Sure have Danny Boy! You should see some of the stuff that I hope is comin' in before Xmas. I've basically stopped buying now until after Crimbo because I don't want the books to get snagged up in the Mail. I buy about 97% of my books outside the UK.
  16. I have to preface this post with this. The wrong label was put on this book. The numbering is sort of correct i.e. its #14, but its not 1952, its as you know, the second issue from 1950. The other details are also incorrect. CGC have made the error, but anyone can make a mistake. I informed them of the error so I can enter this book in my Registry slot in the right place, and they kindly corrected the matter fairly sharpish. In all honestly I don't really care about the label error...its a nice book, a key issue, and the price was right.
