  1. With the result on the More Fun 52 today, does this mean that $264K is the new $500K or did something weird happened in the final few minutes of the auction?
  2. Sad, but so true when it comes to the GA DC's and some of their signature silly covers.
  3. That was my interpretation too. I wasn't actually tracking the prices of the Caps or More Funs. In fact, I didn't even know they were in the auction. No, nothing more than my poor attempt at humor and a play on words (i.e. note the bolded titles) to point out the fact that this auction was top heavy with both Cap books at something like 68 issues and the early More Fun superhero books at something like 27 issues, including the early key biggies in their run.
  4. Probably had a lot to do with the fact this this auction had just the normal GA books from the Big 2 that were popular with the long time collectors from way back in the day, as opposed to the more recent "hot to trot" classic cover books from the smaller 2nd tier GA publishers that the new big money seems to be much more excited about.
  5. Exactly, why would YOU want to be known as one of those know nothing "crypto guys" when you are really one of our cherished and knowledgeable boardie friends here.
  6. If I had a dollar for every time Lou_Fine panicked about price levels prior to live bidding, I'd have been able to afford the MH Fantastic #3! Well, it looks like this is one of the rare opportunities that I get to plead "Not Guilty" here since my post only suggested that there were a lot of Cap's and More Fun's in this auction here which there certainly are, and nothing all about the bid prices.
  7. Took a look at this weekend's Signature Auction that's closing tomorrow and all I can say is that Captain America is sure having a whole lot More Fun in this particular auction here.
  8. No, similar to my orders with CL at the time, they simply combined all of the orders into one much larger shipment. Yep, also totally surprised that they don't charge a storage or safekeeping fee.
  9. Just checked my Larson List and besides being a cool cover, it must also be in super nice condition since the Larson Wonderworld 12 was listed by Tricarichi as a NM/M copy.
  10. Too much trouble as I've paid for my last few orders online. The last time I talked to them was back in 2018 or 2019 when I paid for an order and asked them when it would be shipped and they replied that my profile was set up for shipment only upon request. Thanked her kindly and still haven't bothered to make a request yet, but probably should after my next order or so.
  11. Just imagine that if you had brought the Salvador Mundi painting for a mere $10K back in 2005 and then sold it for $450.3M 12 short years later in 2017, you wouldn't need to worry about insignificant loose change amounts like only a few thousand dollars.
  12. A third rule is don't ever believe it when people say they can't wait for prices to go down so that they can start buying. They are most likely the ones also rushing for the exit doors which are already plugged solid with everybody else trying to out thinking they are in a burning building that's about to come crashing down on their heads.
  13. Haven't you been paying attention to the news..........................it really depends upon who's asking and what it's going to be used for.
  14. Being a long time comic book collector myself, definitely an admirable goal to try to shoot for and one which I have thought about myself. Looks like you are well on your way with 26 of them already, including the biggie in terms of a book from the Edgar Church collection itself. From looking at you list of pedigrees collected to date, it looks like the toughies are going t be a copy from the Allentown and Denver pedigrees since those are of very limited size in terms of only 135 and 153 existing books respectively within these two highly desired pedigrees.
  15. Definitely NOT correct here. This is exactly right as I remember never getting around to calling them to request that they ship my books out to me, and when I finally did, they shipped quite a few years worth of books to me all at one time. Thankfully, they didn't missed any and managed to hold all of them for me.
  16. That hat's only fit for old Hossie there.............................how about one of these slightly larger size hats instead to whet your little appetite:
  17. Actually, absolutely zero idea how Instagram works and never been on there to date so far. So, would you happen to have a link or whatever to this actual sale here?
  18. So, are you trying to tell me that my current high bid is not going to hold and can we really believe anything that shows up on Instagram? Especially considering that Heritage was able to fetched only $52,800 for their CGC 7.0 graded Eldon pedigree copy back in July of 2020.
  19. My guess is 500k+ Well, how about this nice CGC 8.0 graded copy of Cap 3 then, since we've seen some mid-grades and restored copies, but nothing as high as this lately: https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/superhero/captain-america-comics-3-timely-1941-cgc-vf-80-off-white-pages/a/7343-92056.s Any chance that this copy here might crack 6-figures considering that CC managed to fetched $80K for a CGC 7.5 graded CR/OW copy back in 2018 well before the pandemic and crypto craze hit the marketplace?
  20. this Hope you have your parachute on just in case you come crashing back down to Earth if they find some hidden cameras in the ball field.
  21. Well, it is a Friday night and the use of mind expanding hallucinogenic drugs is a lot more common on weekend nights like this. Are you and the Prof sharing the same mind expanding hallucinogenic drugs this weekend, or have you still not come back down to the real world yet from celebrating your Housrton Astros win in the World's Series? Seriously though, good to know and certainly bodes well for the GA marketplace based upon some of the strong prices that we are continuing to see.
  22. What are a few prime examples of the books that underperformed in this Fox Auction from your point of view?
  23. Are you sure Harley wasn't there since he I believe he used to love going to these exotic locales to set up at shows simply so that he can write off these vacation trips of his?
