  1. I'd try a group shot like that, but probably couldn't come close to that pile of O'Barr goodness.
  2. I think the day you don't have CPG's in your thread, I'm going to be very concerned.
  3. Trust me - that slight corner bend from not being packed right took a pile of books to remove. I felt bad when you told me how the others arrived. I guess she learned about packing from those transactions.
  4. And thank goodness everyone in this thread has been about the love of the story and the books, and not just about showing off. I still remember William's amazing picture and thinking, "I will never have books that good." Pure luck and determination is what won out in the end.
  5. Wow, now there is a Crow legend worthy of a comic all by itself. I sincerely wish you luck William and I'll always try to help when I can. I promise. Well, William and I bid on the same Crow #3 (right around the time when he said he wasn't buying them anymore ), and it was pure luck and budget that I got to that book first. It ended up being the first 9.8 in the census.
  6. should of been a 9.9 Always pushing for the best, ain't ya?
  7. Engaging with many, many, many, many sellers and constantly reminding them how much I was interested in Crow books, and to let me know if they found anything at all. The only book that has escaped me is a second Caliber Presents 15, but it is more due to hoarders ( ) than it is scarcity.
  8. Nick that's a beautiful set of books, for sure Thanks folks. It was definitely a labor of love tracking all those books down, with two years of searching. And trust me, there were more false starts with misgraded book sales than I care to count. But it was well worth it in the end.
  9. He got me on a few books that then he offered to end the auction and sell them outside of eBay. BIG MISTAKE! I learned.
  10. When I had heard about there being two #5 covers (one by the regular artist, the other by Kirby/Stevens), I always assumed this cover was Stevens. Then I got a copy years later. Trust me - this cover is better than what the two masters did together.
  11. Jim/luke_19-10 was a serious overgrader in the past, and would fail to tell bidders about creased back covers - heck, he wouldn't even take the book out of the bag to check. I hope he has changed his ways. But I would never buy books from him again.
  12. There's something about the cover that adds an E. to the list of why folks want this book. This book feels the same way - but I can't put my finger on it just yet.
  13. VI 2 is a tough book to find in high grade for some reason. Any I found are usually beat up. I was floored when I picked up that copy from Heritage. $36 w/Buyer's Premium is low for that book.
  14. WOW! RJ sure makes someone feel better about paying $36 for their CGC 9.8 - what a sport! This is why I don't buy from him anymore. It's just toooo HIGH! Hey, I respect if someone is trying to make money at this hobby. But RJ seems to boost a book quite high. But at least when you get a book from him, it comes with a certicate to validate it came from the "BEST COLLECTION IN THE WORLD!"
  15. WOW! RJ sure makes someone feel better about paying $36 for their CGC 9.8 - what a sport!
  16. Bonds has one he was selling. I'd check with him. Airboy 5 CGC 9.8 for sale
  17. Andrew's into insult sales. You know: 1. Yeah - right. Like you could afford my books. I dare you! 2. What, you mug someone recently and finally have cash? 3. Tooth fairy finally come and take those last two cavity-ridden stubs of yours? (insert this image with last insult)
  18. Extremely educational, William. I'm just sorry you went through that. Not like the time payment fellow that paid within days because he felt guilty having debt.
  19. That is just a dream book to own. INCREDIBLE!
