  1. Great news Michael! Glad to hear something will be coming back your way.
  2. thanks bosco685, i doubt he will come forward again. but if he does, no playing nice on half assed promises that he has no way or want to live up to. j J, just sorry you have that much out there with this kid. And he knew how to play your good heart. Now I'm even more concerned he will con others.
  3. Okay, I started a thread in Comics General to help get Connor's attention and take care of these debts. Anyone want to add to the message to strengthen the concern, please do. But having him jumping in-and-out without a care just doesn't seem right, or a situation that should remain hidden in one section of the forum. Let's help these forumites get their money back.
  4. was supposedly the "personal problem" j Oh, so that was the secret problem? Yeah, his parents found out he was stealing money.

  6. Let me ask those that have been on the board a long while if this is appropriate. I wanted to post a thread in the Comics General section as a "call to arms." Bring up the topic that CAP Freak has turned out to be bad news for forum buyers and sellers, and we as a board should rally together and make it clear he is not welcome here, even if the mods will not ban him. What he has done and said is just wrong, and from reading Junkenstein's post, this little fella is still going to pull scams - but on a larger scale as he goes along. Is that an okay thing to do? For all we know, he can be scanning the WTB threads and contacting folks that he has the books someone is asking for and playing them for fools as well. Let's put this little topic to bed, and be done with it. Make it well known what this playa has done, and have him just disappear.
  7. Honestly, go file the claim. DO NOT WAIT! I think you are able to file up to 45 days.
  8. Seriously? Was it too late to file a claim?
  9. He was selling cheap books en masse, so depending on how many you bought, it was still low dollar amounts spread out across quite a few buyers. Does the amount matter if someone is screwing around with sales? Just asking, as playing folks is still wrong, and then forcing them to get their refunds through PayPal because he wouldn't give the money back.
  10. Sleep with it under your pillow - or at least hanging over your bed?
  11. One of my favorite occult covers from the incredible Michael Kaluta.
  12. Sorry to join this discussion late. I hope someone does get in-touch with his father as what he has done is really a strong indicator something negative is influencing his life, and he is heading down a bad path. It doesn't matter what the costs of the books were - doesn't matter how small the transactions. It does matter how he handled himself, which from reading the response of folks that have known him for awhile, there has been a horrible change in his personality. That is a sad thing to hear as a fathe and a board member.
  13. You did everything exactly right, from what I can see. We can all make our own decisions whether we want to risk a purchase from Chainball, which is how this thread should work. And what did a discount have to do with Boozad keeping up on his time-payments, but then having to wait over 30 days for shipping? The issue is taking 30 DAYS to ship a book. One has nothing to do with the other. Nice that you gave him a discount - but turnaround time shouldn't be an ENTIRE MONTH to get around to sending a book out. In even writing that last sentence, I am floored anyone would think that is acceptable under normal circumstances.
  14. Feel free to send PMs. Operators are standing by. And I would bet who it was, but then we would have to do this in public. Wait a minute! Contest idea. Sharon, how about we all PM who we think it was, and the winner wins a prize? Free 10-day delayed shipping.
  15. Very sad indeed. Sorry you had that experience. I had a guy do this on eBay, but his rule was 10 BUSINESS DAYS until he could get around to shipping my books. He was going on tour, and would "get back to me when he got back to me." Gotta love solid customer service. (thumbs u
  16. That's the goofiest excuse for not shipping in a timely fashion I've heard lately. "Hi, just sent you immediate payment. I look forward to the books." "Well, it's going to be ten days. I have a life!" If you cannot take the time to ship out a book within the week under normal circumstances, don't sell until you can. Doesn't matter if you are a full or part-time dealer - it's about courtesy to fellow board members. Sorry. That statement really didn't sit well with me.
  17. Thanks so much to Warlord for a super gathering of high-grade raw books. Extremely well packaged, quickly shipped, and safely delivered. Wayne, I appreciate you making the first order a memorable one. (thumbs u
  18. He complains before he even buys it. Man, you are cranking them out today. What, did you have a healthy bowl of Haa-Haa Cereal today? I like it!
  19. Totally agree. I think it ends up being a situation where some folks commit to buy something, and then the next thing they do is start a sales thread to pay for their purchases. That's too up-in-the-air for me as if I don't have the money in-hand to pay for something or pending immediate cash coming in, then I don't buy. But if the buyer and seller agree on extended terms, then that negates any forum standard and they have to live with the timing.
  20. Seriously though, I agree with the thought process of what is acceptable turnaround. I've paid for books within the hour of receiving the payment instructions PM, waited a week, and then I'll check in with the seller asking for the tracking information. It's annoying when they come back with "Sorry, been busy. I'll get it out soon." I think even 30 days is stretching the limit. If you cannot turn around and mail books within ONE WEEK of payment, maybe you should hold off selling until you can.
  21. You and Trooper now competing for parachute covers?
  22. I guess you didn't see the onesie pajamas.
