  1. It will be interesting to see if this moves forward. Any big-budget film right now can't count on large audience responses this soon.
  2. I own both Superman the Movie: Special Edition (Donner's preferred cut) and Man of Steel, and love them both. But when it comes to a Superman film with a massive threat, the latter wins out for me. Not that it would detract from me appreciating the original AND improved film.
  3. This is really the biggest mistake by WB with the early films in not marketing the entire run as a retelling of stories from the DC Elseworlds concept to tell unique stories. Although the 'NOT MY SUPERMAN' or 'NOT MY BATMAN" chants probably would still be there.
  4. Peggy Carter appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger, Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. show, Agent Carter show (2 seasons), Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man and Avengers: Endgame. And yet with all those appearances, her consistent character traits have been a strong woman who never backed down, co-founded S.H.I.E.L.D. and could stand toe-to-toe with her male counterparts. Probably one of the longest and most frequent Marvel roles across TV and movies. We didn't need to see a finished story in order to comprehend what she was about, and what she believed in. Not that every character will be that straightforward out of the gate. Your belief that the best in Carol Danvers is later down the road, so of course everyone must appreciate her now because when that time comes it is going to be amazing is understood - but not reality for everyone. It's okay that they didn't care for these early appearances and portrayals. But to force appreciation through mocking people that didn't care for her, or categorizing them as anti-feminists and desiring submissive female characters gets old after a while. Like probably 5 months ago.
  5. I heard that during the panel. There is definitely some emotion tied to the entire situation.
  6. Joss Whedon is definitely coming up a lot now with bad studio behavior. To include the story concerning Buffy's stunt double. Though there were already concerns with the stories his ex-wife put out concerning his affairs. I think that's when he really started pulling back publicly with fan engagements and speaking opportunities.
  7. See, your mind is too clouded with this topic. These women - including the person in the video that is also in transition which then deals with its own pressures - also talked about when creative leaders force their teams to interpret the female character in a less than pleasing light. That has nothing to do with sexual harassment. It was the imagery conveyed by these productions that women are there to just be side players in the grander picture. Why do you think the panel name was 'Building A Better Heroine'?
  8. I think you have proven yourself to be so blinded by your desires for the world to love Captain Marvel as much as you do or bust, that alone clouds your judgement. Now accusing me of putting words in your mouth when you do that all by yourself, good luck with that.
  9. You mean like when you accuse people of being anti-feminist if they disliked Captain Marvel - that kind of 'putting words in people's mouths'? Glad you respect their beliefs and quote them when it suits your rumors and assumptions. Meanwhile, it sounds like they live these things every day as females in the comic book industry. Go you!
