  1. Did you have any communication with Mike or did your book just show up one day in the mailbox?
  2. And that cash converted to alcohol and meth smoke (allegedly) He could've just rolled up the books and smoked them ... cut out the middleman
  3. Here are the recent sales. Anyone recognize their book(s)?
  4. Do you know the name of the eBay store he's been using to sell?
  5. CGC just needs to find a way to make money off it... maybe a monthly subscription for access to scans
  6. Also keep in mind they've maintained shipping submissions every day since this broke, presumably with no additional security measures and certainly no new case design. I guess their plan is to disappear the affected books ASAP and forget this all happened. Remove their scarlet letter and get them back out into anonymous circulation. The only "process improvement" is firing the reholder guy, which is treating a symptom but not curing the root cause. They can ban the scammer's account but who's to say he can't just open a new account with another family member's name/address. Heck, maybe he already did and has already submitted a fresh batch of books
  7. Imagine if someone bought a Hulk 181 9.0 at the height of the boom and get reimbursed for a 8.0 green label at today's prices.
  8. Yes, I only attributed submissions to him where there were at least 2 on the Hot 350. I also looked at other books in the submission to make sure they matched his pattern (ASM 194, 300, etc); if the submission had more variety and lower grades, I assumed that he was not the original submitter.
  9. Here is why I keep harping on this point. I went through the Hot 350 list and found a ton of "holes" - individual cert numbers missing from a single submission batch. For example, say cert numbers xxx001, xxx003, xxx004 are on the list but xxx002 is not. I used the census to fill the holes and this is what I came up with: 215 more books The highlighted column shows the number of books I added (N meaning not on the initial Hot 350 list). Some highlights 1 more ASM 129 25 more ASM 194's 11 more ASM 252's 39 more ASM 300's 3 more Hulk 181's 4 more Hulk 340's 8 more X-Men 266's, including 1 with MJ We need some clarity on why some books are NOT on the list. Take ASM 300 for example: why were 86 9.8's on the list but 14 weren't? What is different about the 14? How do we know these 14 are "safe" and guaranteed not fraudulent? There were 3 FF 48's on the list and 3 not on the list; is CGC 100% certain those 3 are OK? How can you tell? @CGC Mike, please ask to release the criteria used to generate the list of 350 and/or release his entire submission history. Better to be safe and recheck everything this guy touched.
  10. That being said, he had hundreds of submissions without custom labels that are not on the Hot 350 list, which is why I'll ask again for CGC to release the criteria used to generate the list of 350 and/or release his entire submission history. Better to be safe and recheck everything this guy touched. @CGC Mike
  11. Not yet. A green label 9.8 sold on Heritage in November, maybe it was our guy Green label: $9600 Blue label: $55-60k Pretty serious potential ROI, assuming he had the cash flow to sink $10k on the green label
  12. @CGC Mike this is very concerning. PLEASE ask the team to a) provide criteria of how the list was determined and/or b) update the list to include ALL of the account's submissions.
  13. The other troubling thing about this listing is it doesn't contain the trademark "The $$$ and Hard work has already been done for you" verbiage. So if @comicwiz & @agamoto have been searching WorthPoint for that phrase, there may be way more listings out there that we haven't caught.
  14. So if he listed it for sale in Jun 2018 but still had it to sell to you in 2019, he must've shill bidded that auction and won it himself. The 3-May-2018 sale must've been when he acquired it himself.
  15. @BlancoBros thank you! @mrd160, the 7-Jun-2018 listing has our perp's background. Was this about the same time he sent you the pic? Or was the 2018 sale to himself?
  16. @comicwiz, @agamoto, are either of you able to find any of these prior sales on WorthPoint? We could at least verify if the same book stays with the cert number. The strange cut along the bottom should be a dead giveaway.
  17. Are you able to share the criteria used to determine the initial list of 350? Knowing how CGC created the list would help us investigators fill potential gaps.
  18. This post contains everything we know, along with links to proof pics that members have found.
