  1. Well... the guy could be telling the truth, but won't live long enough to reveal it. Thus, Kirkman would still be keeping his word.
  2. Yes, the current storyline involves going to Washington DC because one of the new members in the group knows what caused it. However, he didn't reveal the cause to the original group or us the readers. Here is the last page of issue 53 and the 1st page of issue 54.
  3. I would sell it on eBay and then buy a better copy with the money. I just did a search on eBay and couldn't find it, but I'm pretty sure a CGC 8.0 just sold within the last 2 weeks for $160 + shipping costs. (Some people do pay for the holder ) With that amount you could get a nice RAW copy, since you don't need to buy a graded copy. Since it'll get graded when you get the sigs done. (thumbs u Good luck!
  4. Here is the link to the AMC article: http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118007161.html?categoryid=14&cs=1&query=Walking+Dead
  5. I loved Invincible when it started. The 1st 13 issues were gold. I think he managed to create a fresh new character with that original Spider-Man feel to him. I was reading this series for awhile, but then it just started to get eh... I don't know, I think the stable of villians is where the quality is low. They seem to be either too cheesy, cartoonish or just not interesting. With the exception of the Vultrimites. (Powerplex from 59 seems promising too.) The Conquest storyline was great. Great to the point that Invincible has returned to my pull list. Absolutely awesome. #59 to #64 have been great. #63 may have even been my favorite single comic this year. BUT... the Conquest books were Vultrimite issues, and #60 is a Vultrimite issue in my mind since they were evil Invincibles. I've heard that the Vultrimites will be a major part in upcoming issues too. Supposedly to culminate with a resolution by #75.
  6. I don't think he should reveal the cause. Usually the reasons are cheesy. This really isn't a book about Zombies anyway, it's about the characters and their struggles. The Zombies have always been in the background. I'm going with dream for that cover, or another small community like Woodbury that's near DC. Not DC itself.
  7. In addition to the grey tones on The Walking Dead, he's doing the artwork on another zombie book called Rotten right now. If you haven't checked it out yet I recommend it. Only 2 issues have come out, but so far it's very good. Think Walking Dead in the Wild West time period. Similar to WD in that it's Romero style zombies and people are the main characters. (I say that because there have been a ton of bad zombie comics not following the Kirkman/Romero style.)
  8. Pretty cool cover considering this issue will be the finale of the "Fear the Hunters Arc." Certainly gives us the feel of more characters are going to exit stage left. Kirkman is such as brave writer in the sense that he's willing to kill of supporting characters for the sake of the story. I was shocked when I read Invincible #63 last month, but afterwards it hit me that I shouldn't be from a Kirkman book. He definitely keeps me interested this way. I think it's the main reason he's my favorite writer in comics.
  9. Anybody read Rotten? It came out on June 3rd. I picked up a copy and really enjoyed it. It's similar to the Walking Dead in that the story focuses on the characters and the Zombies are in the background. The other twist was that it takes place during the old west. Issue number 1 was $5.99 but was 52 pages long with no ads so it was worth the price. I actually added it to my pull list. Here are some links with more info: http://www.brokenfrontier.com/lowdown/p/detail/rotten-zombies-with-a-bad-smell http://www.comicmonsters.com/features-1024-Mark_Rahner_talks_ROTTEN.html
  10. Interesting... that would be a twist. It did seem obvious the new preacher is the one setting them up for these new mystery villians. With him rather quickly learning about the group and their past.
  11. "Attack of the Show" just reported during their "Fresh Ink" segment that Cory Walker is returning to the book with issue #66 for a 2 part Vultrimite story. It's suppose to set the stage for a the Vultrimite War that will either take place or conclude with issue #75.
  12. Absolutely!! It wasn't listed on the Diamond Website as a new release this week, so I didn't know it came out. Otherwise I would have gone to the LCS. I'll be going tomorrow for sure. Thanks! (thumbs u
  13. Thanks. I think it's the best looking 4.0 I've seen. I'm very happy with the look of this book at the 4.0 price.
  14. I know most of the people on these boards are high grade collectors so you may not appreciate this but... I just got one of my personal grail books today!
  15. Rick Leonardi This guy has been in the business for almost 20 years, and hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet. I really liked his work on Daredevil and some of his Spider-Man stuff.
  16. Lots of really good books listed so far. I'd add the Mutant Massacre from X-Men 210-213. I think some people are looking for some more books off the beaten path that they may have never heard of so here are 4 of my favorite lesser known books with pictures: THOR #385: BEST HULK vs. THOR fight ever!!! Period. I read this book 1,000 times as a kid. The inside is drawn by Eric Larsen of Spider-Man & Savage Dragon fame, but it's early work of his and looks awesome. Fight starts on pg. 5 and lasts the whole issue. At one point the Hulk throws a train on Thor. Great stuff. CAPTAIN AMERICA #367: The "Acts of Vengeance" storyline. In this issue MAGNETO fights the RED SKULL for revenge (since Magneto spent time in the Nazi death camps). Red Skulls fate at the hands of Magneto at the end is the perfect ending. Awesome issue. DAREDEVIL #249: WOLVERINE vs. DAREDEVIL fight. Basically, there is this villian committing hate crimes against mutants. Daredevil wants him to get a fair trial, while Wolverine wants to kill him. Very strong artwork. AMAZING SM #274: This is one of my all time favorite Spider-Man issues, since it really gets to the heart of Spidey. Don't be fooled by the Secret Wars 2 crossover label. It starts with Mephisto and the Beyonder arguing over the value of a human life and whether or not the Beyonder should just destroy the world. They then make a bet that involves Spider-Man. Basically, Spidey has no idea this is going on. He over hears that someone is going to assasinate the Kingpin. So the Beyonder sends a demon to try and discourage Spidey from saving him. However, in the end Spidey values life, even that of his enemies, and does everything in his power to stop the assasination. Very cool issue that tells the story of how heroic Spidey really is.
