  1. Aside from the critics, I haven't heard many call it brilliant or amazing. It's either, "It was ok but had flaws." or hated it. I really hope Johnson is removed from any other SW projects.
  2. On a positive note, I'm 3 episodes in to Rebels and it's so good.
  3. I'm seeing a much larger disparity from TLJ than any other Star Wars. Maybe that's just me though
  4. Most of this is a load of . Might as well just say, "Because I said so." to each question.
  5. It really helped me get over how bad this movie was by watching iv thru vi 8 times since last week.
  6. I just had a terrible thought that the next icon sent to the firing squad will be the Falcon but there's too much toy marketing potential there so I think we're safe
  7. Doubtful. Considering just the small sample here on the forums, where it appears more disliked it than approved. Just jump on any facebook link with Star Wars attached (not even specifically TLJ) or any of many Star Wars forums and can find a majority of comments disliking the film. I think the RT score will dip below 50% as more people see it but let's pretend only 54% of the world approves of the film a month from now. If you think with numbers like that and 93% of critics reviews are geniune, than you are in denial. I was just curious if anyone had insight on what a critic may have to lose or gain from reviews from such a big movie machine.
  8. Giddy would be, "The RT score dropped to 54%!" I find it very interesting, with such a high profile film, the the critic score is so high. How many of these critics have something to gain by posting a positive score or, more importantly, lose by giving a bad review.
  9. Yes. It's not typical these days though. It used to be a lot more common 15-20 years ago.
  10. I'll disagree again that he was a wizened master. He didn't even know Han died. He gave up being a Jedi. The Luke from 4-6 would not have given up on his family. I'm glad you liked this film. Not trying to take that away from anyone but don't try to feed me sh*t and tell me it'sugar.
  11. This isn't accurate. Luke closes himself off to the force totally. He is hiding on the island because he is waiting to die.
  12. I've had almost a week to digest it and this movie still sucks. It would have been salvageable if they kept true to Luke's character BUT even then, it had so many flaws, it still would be the worst SW.
  13. I don't buy this either. Sounds like someone trying to give themselves an epeen stroke. There is obviously a decent split on how the film was received by audiences.
  14. If you really think the Luke portrayed in TLJ is the same as Episode 4-6, then you missed something magical.
  15. I'm not coming across well with what I mean by changing the story. Mostly because I can't be specific without spoilers. Saying that, it's not a horrible movie by itself. TLJ just doesn't seem like it's taking place in the same universe as the movies had been since 1977.
  16. I notice a lot of people defending the film and stating , "Nothing will be as good as the original." From what I've read on other bad reviews, that isn't the issue and personally, the hump I can't get over is the corruption of the original source material. I never expected it to meet or exceed Episide 4-6.
