  1. Got this in a couple days ago. Whoever bid me up at the Bay...be glad you didn't win it. The Bum Seller did not disclose that the triangular piece at bottom is starting to detach. Look at the long crease at the lower left. Detached 3/4" and could just break clean off. :tonofbricks: Born to lose. :frustrated::sorry: $30 bucks was definately wasted here.:censored:

  2. Don't recall ever posting to this thread. Here's a few recent aquisitions.

    Another cool 40's DC #1

    WesternComics01.jpg

Just can't get enough Fox and Crow. Only need #3 to have all the first 10 issues of Real Screen.

And finally after over 30 years of collecting do I get a decent copy of this prize. If not for the green stain on the spine it would be high grade.

Awesome Superboy Silver! Sure would go nice with my #1.

And that B&B 35 is much nicer than my copy. (thumbs u

These are tough to find in high grade. At least this is decent.

  4. Hey all you Battle Boys and Gals!

How about helping out this thread today with some nice 1961 War covers. It's at the top of the silver forum. Give the war titles a bit more exposure. But only 1961 and only one example of each. So if someones done it. Don't add another. It's not a war thread but a sampler of all DC titles for the decade of the 60's.

So far no one has posted any war covers. 1960 is done. Unfortunately no one posted any 1960 war books. My colllection is lacking in these years. Next week we'll be into 1962, '63 and so on.

You may or may not collect other DC titles but you may enjoy the thread.

    Puleease!! Fazybones? Bigfiver69?

Now how's about the first HT cover art.

    Sweet books!!

  6. Incidently, I started a thread the other day when I joined the CGC Boards. "30 years collecting DC Silver new member" in the General section. Also posted in silver but all my images are in the general section.

I have scans of several 1950's DC #1's and then some HG various 1960's DC. Check 'em out if you haven't already. Also in "Brother can you spare a grade?" I posted my newly aquired HG 1949 Superboy #1

    Thanks, Seadevils

  7. Wow!!! I'm just blown away looking at all the 9.2, 9.4, 9.6 early silver GL's. My favorite DC hero other than Supey. Course I love 'em all. arexcrooke's 9.4 GL59 rocks and then Big Daddy put his 9.4 up. Whoa!!

arexcroooke and , spunkydo way to go!!! I'm totally jealous of paperheart's 9.6 GL 40. Thought I had a decent CGC'd 8.5. lol

I have all the GL's from Showcase 22 up to the end of the 2nd series. Purchased the 90 up right off the shelves personally. My early issues are a mixed bag. There are VG+ and there are 9.2 and 9.4's. Really tough for me to find some cool stuff that you guys haven't already posted. Here's a few of mine. The kicker is, I only paid $1 each for these in 1982 from the original owner. What a find. I reduced my scans somewhat so I do not eat up my ISP space. Sorry.

GL70 has razor sharp corners but some minor spine crinklies. May grade 9.0 Looks NM in person

    gl70.jpg

GL73 Perhaps my fave of this part of the run. Razor sharp corners.Spines perfect. UNfortunatley the cut is slightly off. 9.4?

    gl73.jpg

GL74 Darn upper right corner ding. No spine issues. 9.2?

    gl74.jpg

GL75 Just a bit less than the rest. 9.0

    gl75.jpg

GL87 awesome white cover corners are nice but slightly turned down on this Giant Size issue. Tough call. Possibly 9.2 but perhaps just 9.0.

    gl87.jpg

And the last of the original run GL89 Decent 9.0

    gl89.jpg

I may post some others later. Thanks for sharing the images. GL RULES!!!

  8. Thanks Andy,

Not so sure my views on War books would be worthy of your group. I love the books and have many I've collected over the years, but I'm hardly knowledgable with the politics of war. Now if it's the art work. I can give my 2 cents there. Love the Kubert covers. And Grandenetti had some nice cover art. And I agree with Fazybones. Russ Heath had some awesome covers as well.

Here's my OAAW 151 I scored on EPay a few years back.
