  1. Re: I cannot locate my other thread about the damage so I posted here. Can anyone find that? This one? When you click it, the link should go to the post with the first post with pictures. Scroll down to see more
  2. Up to $29K now. I guess people were holding back until the reserve was shown
  3. I double mat. White on top and 1/4” of a color from the undermat showing. You can see my framed art here.
  4. For unframed pieces, I use the portfolios show above and store them in this: Click the image to see better and more pictures of the cabinet. My framed art can be seen here.
  5. Wow is right. Could it possible re-sell for something similar? I find that mind boggling. It's nice enough, but ...
  6. Yes, I'd ask CL or Heritage to sell it though private placement is an option. Here's my standard answer (as a spoiler because I post it often).
  7. This thread hasn't been used for a long time and I missed it. So, I'm bumping it by showing my latest commission. --- Picked up a little something today that I've been waiting for (more or less patiently) for five years. The Shadow and Margo Lane as the perk for my backing of the Kickstarter for "Starstruck: Old Proldiers Never Die." The KS was funded in May of 2013, but the book required a lot more work than expected, took longer as a consequence, and cost more. As tough as Elaine and Michael found the row to hoe, I felt that we were informed of the progress on a regular enough basis and the resulting book is gorgeous and a fun read. Once the book was done, Micheal could start on the commission perks. Logically, he did the simpler and Starstuck centered ones first. Mine was neither of these. I was glad to hear from him that he enjoyed doing it and showing it to visitors. I love what he produced for me. Click the link to see the progress of the commission and larger images.

  9. You must have been running around like a madman to get 40+ sketches. Wow!
  10. New art on the wall! We picked this up at Heroescon 2018 and just got it back from the framer. Kathy put it in a place of honor - our den. Thanks to the artist, David Petersen, who made it available to us. I should mention that you can see a bigger image here: http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1479894 Also, David's books are available wherever fine books are sold, e.g., your LCS and, of course, Amazon (search for Mouse Guard).

  12. I won! Guadeloupe River from porch of the River House we rent each year.
  13. If you are a premium CAF member, you can upload larger images. You can see the result on my Bastian work: Cursed Pirate Girl herself Pirate Ship JB’s First CPG Commission You should a black bar under the image saying to click on the image to enlarge it. Of course, you have to be a Premium member; I find that worthwhile.
  14. Two sites come to mind: Comic Art Commissions and Deviant Art The former has listings for various kinds of artwork.
  15. Indeed you are not. Those are apes. Apes do not have tails, monkeys do.
  16. I have no doubt this will fund the college educations of my great-grandchildren. After all, it’s by the greatest artist/lawyer of his generation.
  17. Re: a terrific piece which has appeared may happen to exceed my cash flow at a given moment I know the feeling, but I decided long ago on my budget and I stick to it. There will be another or I can prepare by building my stas.
  18. I think Erik did a nice job. A stat (photostat) is basically a photocopy laid over the OA to achieve a change to the art, e. g., cover elements or art corrections.
  19. I’ve never done a trade. All cash all the time. To be honest, I have very few pieces that I’d be willing to move.
  20. I blame Rob Stolzer for this purchase. He has a large selection of Drumm strips and I've enjoyed looking through them. I recently ended up with quite a few ebay bucks and decided a Tippie strip would be really nice. There was a terrific Sunday on ebay, but I got cheap and lost it. These two make a nice replacement.
