  1. Was watching Jerry's video today on some 9.8s to grab in 2022 and he mentioned the X-Men 1 comic we all know. He mentioned to grab it now since it is affordable. With going on 4,500 CGC 9.8 copies I do not see this comic ever reaching decent money due to the lack of supply. What are the opinions here on this?
  2. Seem to be hard to find and WHAT a 90's iconic cover!! Love the cover on this one. This just takes me directly back to my youth and collecting.
  3. Some people cannot function correctly unless they complain/insult often. If I had to guess I'd assume it is due to self dislike to some degree.
  4. It's one I want to buy possibly so I'd rather not bring attention to that.
  5. Yes the label that has the grade, page color, etc
  6. What would cause the top banner on a CGC case be wavy almost like it got wet? Is it possible to keep the grade, send in to CGC for repairs or something? Looks very odd, haven't seen this before.
  7. Why do you say signed? I'm torn on if I think signed books bring more or less in the long run. Like for example if I was buying a silver aged book I wouldn't want it signed by anyone.
  8. When collecting a silver age, is there any unofficial agreed on grade that is a "good idea" to go after if 9.8-8 aren't an option? I know higher the better but just curious if for say, 6.0 is usually a good idea. If what I'm trying to get across makes sense at all...
  9. The comic is encapsulated into a protective case and cannot be opened, you cannot read it, yet the color of the pages you cannot see matter. I get it, I know. But I think that is a little funny
  10. Given equal grading and cover appeal. How big of a deal breaker is off-white pages to collectors? (I also saw other page color ratings)
  11. I need the gold version 9.8 in my life for some reason.
  12. So from my understanding the 3rd print is the white background with silver 100s and the 2nd print is a white background with gold 100s. GPA doesn't mention a gold print edition though it exists, and CGC has silver font 100s listed as 2nd print. What am I missing here?
  13. Is this mainly due to the stimulus going out and all? I see pretty much across the board in April of 2021 values are going to the moon as if they were Gamestop stock. Hopefully they don't crash like it did. You guys think prices will hold, go up, or crash hard?
  14. What do you guys think about this one? I grabbed another one and going to send them both off at the same time.
  15. A year before I was born. The early 80's were very much into facial expressions in art! What an awesome era.
  16. I AGREE!!! I don't think silver age books will continue to go up in value, there has to be a peak and then decline. This actually reminds me of firearms collecting. A Colt single action army will have (older) collectors spending tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars (and more) on a single Colt single action army revolver. Reason being IMO is they all remember growing up watching spaghetti westerns on TV. Likewise, I bet the majority of silver age comic collectors are men 50+ age. And I could be completely wrong here... So I can see the next big comics with values being bronze and copper age. Me personally I absolutely love 80's and 90's comics because that is the era I grew up and collected them. But I'm with you, after the internet blew up and collecting became a much easier thing to do, CGC encapsulated the books and graded them...Anything much after that there has to be a huge supply which will always keep the price down because with value you have to have 2 things...Supply and demand. So IF any future modern age (I would say post 2000) books will be big hitters they will have to be something no one cares about now and will later blow up. Again, I could be completely wrong. But overall, yes I agree with you.
  17. Well I'm a huge cover art fan, I just love a good cover on a comic. With that said I also like Daredevil and brown/orange Wolverine is my second favorite costume he has ever had. So for $140 this is mine...
  18. One minute one thing and the next another. I do think I am leaning towards getting something that I truly like. I know TOD #10 is hot but I honestly couldn't care less about that book or blade in general honestly. So I think financially it would be a great pick up, can't agree with you guys more. But I want to invest in books that I will like and not want to get rid of. I did just pick up my very first bronze age 9.8!
  19. I was just needing some help, I just joined GPA. Forgive me
  20. Dang good song, got it playing in the background now
