  1. Yes, I'm reminded of that every time I see a copy of "Mr. T and the T-Force" in the quarter boxes.
  2. it was a great con. And it was my first con..I was only 15 at the time. Did chores to save up money to go. I still have the program guides, wizard fan awards ballot, etc. I also got that Spidey/Cap pic! Also, most importantly, Mr. T was there.
  3. I don't know the print run, but they were originally giveaways at cons. I got it when I went to Comicfest '93 in Philadelphia, where Stan sat at the Mirage booth promoting Usagi's (temporary) move to Mirage.
  4. No, actually, I was the one selling it! It went for almost $150
  5. This comic is very rare and sought after in the Usagi community. Yellow ashcan Space Usagi #1, 1993. I don't know if there are any slabs.

  7. Dr. X is a class act. Not only did he send me free books, but packaged them perfectly. Very happy with the books.
  8. I purchased a great lot of 2 low grade ASMs from Marc. The comics were packaged very well and arrived quickly. Thanks!
  9. Judging how prices have skyrocketed on this book lately, I'd guess close to the $30k mark.
  10. Love that #5 page, classic pose at the top right. While we're showing off OA from #5, here's my Fugitoid origin page:
  11. Great pickup and super deal! Congrats woregul. Book 4 is now my favorite sketch of them all. By the way, here is the missing pic of the #9 book (not mine):
  12. Thanks. This is what my gut told me, I just didn't want to believe it. Glad I could get a second opinion. Back to the drawing board on finding a legit #1, I guess. I paid $250 about 4 years ago. Lesson learned. This thread ensures that I won't be hosed again. Now I need to figure out what to do with this comic. I don't want it to fall into the "wrong" hands again, so I guess it's either keep it or destroy it.
  13. Thanks for the insight! Unfortunately, that Raphael page looks exactly the same in my 1st and 3rd print, like your picture on the right. I can definitely see the difference in my 2nd printing. And, the Gobbledygook ad seems to have the right side cut off of on the second issue. looking at this page: http://miragelicensing.com/comics/mirage/volume01/01/printing-info.html it seems you should see both books in their entirety.
  14. here is an image of my "1st printing": notice the cover isn't quite the height of the book inside, as it is peeking out a bit.
  15. I have a quick question that relates to this post. I was examining my 1st, 2nd and 3rd printings of #1 just now (none slabbed). I am questioning the legitimacy of my 1st print. I don't have another to compare it to, so I thought I'd ask the board for help. My first print is the exact same width and height of my third print. My second print is wider and slightly taller than my 1st and 3rd. I was under the impression that 1st and 2nd were nearly identical in size. Also, the 1st does have the Gobbledygook ad, but on the inside front cover, the address is cut off at the bottom. Also, the paper used for the cover is a different type of paper than is used for the 2nd and 3rd printings. The image on the cover doesn't look as "crisp" as the subsequent two printings. I suspect it may be a photocopy. Now, my inclination is that a 3rd printing interior was used, and a first printing cover was photocopied, cut to the width of the 3rd printing and attached carefully. I hope this is not the case but I wondered if I could get some insight on here. Thanks!
  16. I'm 29...I've been collecting on and off since 1986.
