  1. That is one nice-looking copy! Congrats!
  2. I think Action 241 is the first Fortress of Solitude, which is a Silver Age staple.
  3. I have the whole run from 100-423 and also Action from 229-583. I am going to have to post more covers as well!
  4. Holy cow. You win the internets today, sir!
  5. Ah, the great "Virus X" story arc!
  6. Notwithstanding one exception (Superman 76). my Superman collection starts chronologically with this book. Great cover.
  7. That is the most pristine copy I have ever seen of that issue. Geez, the background purple doesn't have a single nick.
  8. One day I am going to get this high grade and slabbed. Iconic cover. My raw copy is probably VG/VG+
  9. If you can spring for such a nice copy of 109, then 107 and 108 at least are within your reach!
  10. Thanks! Seeing it encased is a thing of beauty. I have the Flash silver age omnibus #1, so fortunately can read any time!
  11. Well, here it is. Just arrived back from CGC today. Flash 110.
  12. Superman 207 is a sentimental favorite of mine. Got that as a birthday present one year.
  13. Nothing "new" exactly, but I am getting my copy of Flash 110 back from CGC early this week. Will post when I get it. Graded as a 4.5, which is very respectable, although I was hoping for a 5 or higher. But still exciting.
  14. For real. And such an un-Silver Age story. A total downer.
  15. Some other Silver Age favorites in my collection. Superman 157 was the first Silver Age issue I bought - my original copy cost me $1.50 in 1986. This copy I bought on ebay a couple years back.
  16. Loved that story and the big reveal midway through. This is probably heresy on the board, but I came to the Barry Allen Flash very late in his run - only started collecting in 1985 as the trial was wrapping up. I was able to get a few big issues before the title ended, including 175 and 300. When he died in Crisis 8 I understood it was an impactful moment but couldn't appreciate it at the time for what it was. After Crisis I started with Flash Vol 2 and really liked how they wrote Wally - i.e., for teenagers to relate to. So Wally became my Flash. Only later, when I had more funds, was I able to go back and pick up a few runs of Barry's issues and began to understand the tragedy and compelling nature of the character.
  17. Might be in Action Comics 221 if anyone has a copy. It's an October 1956 cover date. I have a pretty good Superman silver age collection but I am missing that one.
  18. That's a beautiful copy. Congratulations!
  19. Nice copy of 234! (And great Curt Swan art). I have a VF 227, but 210, 214, and 226 are still on my list.
  20. Very strange. You can get a 6.0 on ebay right now for about that price.
  21. I thought I'd show off a couple of my Silver Age books... just a couple of ordinary issues here.
  22. Great covers. I have all of these except for 110. Gloss and colors on your copies look really good, especially the 106 which is a personal favorite of mine.
