  1. Hi all - Just wondering if there is an existing Superman silver age thread (like the dedicated Flash and Batman threads). I have searched the forum and can't find one that exists. If not, let's start one here!
  2. That is truly a haul. I would have done the same thing.
  3. How/when did you land your SC 4? That's an exclusive club for sure.
  4. Holy , a 7? Congratulations, that must have cost some coin! Really beautiful copy.
  5. I wonder if there's a disproportionate number slabbed because of the perception that it is scarce. They don't pop up on ebay very often, that's for sure. I was lucky to snag a copy last year on Comic Connect.
  6. Beautiful copy! And great cover. I gotta get me one of those someday.
  7. One random question: does anyone know why Overstreet lists Flash 106 as "scarce"?
  8. The date stamp was a significant selling point for me. Fandom lists the official publication date as December 23, 1958. So the book got stamped on the day before it went on the rack.
  9. I snagged a Superman #76 late last year (CGC 5.5). One of my most exciting moments in collecting (Action #252 and Flash #123 are the two others that immediately come to mind). I have been staying away from golden age stuff in general but lately have thought about acquiring one or two early Superman issues.
  10. Well, I completed my run of the Barry Allen Flash title (105-350) by acquiring a CGC graded copy of 105. Very excited - I will post a pic when it arrives. Now on to the Showcase issues! (except #4, haha, won't ever have the kind of dough needed for that!)
  11. OK, in response to a couple of you, here's the copy of 139 I recently acquired. There's a shadow from my cell phone in the middle.
  12. Totally new to the boards, longtime reader. I too am a long-time Flash fan, having sadly sold my collection 15 years ago pre-marriage and then got back into things once the pandemic and some personal challenges (divorce, health) hit my life. Discovered this thread a few days back and getting a real kick out of it. Long story short, my favorite 5 covers from the classic era are 113, 123, 139, 174, and 323 (have all those issues). Just acquired a CGC-graded copy of 139, very exciting!
