  1. CGC SIGNATURE  SERIES OPPORTUNITY FOR A TRIPLE STRAY DOGS CREATOR SIGNING EVENT!

Hey, Stray Dogs fans! Now that Dog Days #1 & #2 are in hand, it’s time to get the band together and offer a special TRIPLE signing for ALL your Stray Dogs comic books! We’ll get your comics signed by artists Tony Fleecs, Trish Forstner and Tone Rodriguez and submit them to CGC for Signature Series! This opp is currently one of the ONLY ways to get your triple signed books to CGC. Our witnesses are travelling to all the artists throughout the US in mid to late March 2022.

Cost is $50 per book when put on your own account. (CGC will bill you for grading and return shipping costs, and pressing if you opt in for that.) If you want this going on my account, DM or e-mail us at straydogs.cgc@gmail.com for the price and quantity you wish to submit.

    KEY DETAILS:

Books are due by Monday, March 7th, 2022. Payment can be made through PayPal Goods & Services at straydogs.cgc@gmail.com, or you can email us or DM me for payment info via Venmo or a check/money order included with the books.

    Send your books to:

    Stray Dogs Signing
    1726 N. Hannah Circle
    Simi Valley, CA 93063

    KEEP IN MIND:

    1.  *** Unfortunately, we are NOT taking in ANY Sketch or Remarque requests for this signing. If you send in a blank cover comic, you will simply receive three signatures on it. We are also not taking requests for only 1 or 2 of the artists offered. Every comic submitted will get triple signed.***

    2. Your comics need to be prepared in a window bag or there will be an extra fee per book to prepare it. Please consult YouTube videos like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gv0uVDnonCY,  for instructions on how to prepare your comic(s) or use the CGC Signature Series window bag if you have them!

    3. On the backing board for each comic, we need your name, e-mail address, and your CGC account number.

    4. You can ask for specific pen color but due to the expected volume, we are not guaranteeing any specific pen color for this signing. We will do our best to accommodate these requests.

    THAT’S IT!

If you’ve got any other questions, just let us know here or via e-mail at straydogs.cgc@gmail.com. We can’t wait to get your comics signed by these great creators and take them over to CGC for grading!

I bought one too(1-1000 signed).  I haven’t gotten mine yet. The comic shop is still waiting to get it.  I asked about expedited shipping but when I did they said it wasn’t offered.  I was told 60 days but I don’t know what normal ordering means?  I know shops had to pay 90 bucks for the cheapest option or something like that?

I apologize for my lateness to this thread, as I abandoned these boards years ago in search of sanity... :) However, allow me to set the record STRAIGHT since I'm the facilitator that BOOM! hired to get the Keanu signed copies to CGC on behalf of qualifying retailers who wanted CGC. A longer response is coming next, but wanted to state a few facts here for recent comments:

Retailers who didn't have a CGC account (or didn't want to use their account) were offered 3 tier options: Fast Track Modern for $90, Standard for $130, or Express for $170. (includes Domestic US return shipping, grading fee, invoice fee and facilitator/handling fee. For Standard and Express, I heavily suggested USPS Registered Mail to protect their full insurance value of either $1000 or $3000) If a retailer had their own CGC account, I placed the book on their account, but steered them towards one of those 3 grading levels. A handful of retailers picked different levels, and an unspecified number of retailers also chose to add CCS pressing to their book(s).

Unlike what was stated above, retailers did not all choose the cheapest option, which is why 188+ copies are already on the census. Express customers got their copies back, then Standard, and now the Fast Track Modern customers are starting to get shipping notices and their books.

More to come in my next post.

  3. My post is long overdue as Joe has worked MIRACLES on several batches of books for me, and I gotta say, he does an AMAZING job every single time!

It's a labor of love for him, as he studies and treats every book with care and attention. I'm only sad that I didn't take pictures of before/after to demonstrate his prowess.

I had a slabbed Star Wars 107 in 9.4. Joe worked his magic, it got signed by SIX different cast members of Star Wars, some of whom were not as gentle as they could've been, and the book came back a 9.8!

He took a raw Saga of the Swamp Thing 37, estimated at 9.2-9.4, pressed the heck out of it, three signatures and 2 head sketches later, a 9.8.

He took 2 copies of Star Wars 1, raw Vf+ and NM-, and even after 5 cast signatures, I got 9.2 and 9.6.

The list goes on and on. My books come back gorgeous and he can show me everything in precise detail. Zero complaints, I just wish he could clone himself so we could have more RMA pressing. :) Two thumbs way up, Joe! Thank you SO much!

  4. eBay bidder hollijth-36zcliw2u made me a $179.99 offer on that X-Men #94, I accepted it, and so far, that person hasn't paid. I don't know why the bidder would send you an e-mail about it. I guess I should open up an Unpaid Item report, are you saying it's a fake bidder? Thanks for the heads up.

  5. Sorry you feel that way, and again, sorry that you didn't have a good transaction. I was upset, your feedback led to lower sales and cost me money. Actually, that transaction led me to really make sure everything gets bagged and boarded separately for my eBay transactions, so you did make a difference. Thanks.

  6. I bought from Joel Elad once. Wasn't very impressive.

I wasn't the best shopper at the time either, only had limited experience with eBay, left him a neg for poor shipping. He tore into me and vowed never to sell me anything again, and that I would be missing out cause word would get out and no one will ever want to sell to me.

Not such a big shot after all, eh?

Once again, you are grossly misstating what happened, or you are interpreting it as badly as possible. This is the word-for-word response I gave you when you slammed me with two bad feedbacks and then asked me to leave you feedback (which, as a seller, only can be positive feedback):

I understand your request to reciprocate on the feedback issue, but the only feedback you are going to get is the following: In the future, when you have a problem with a seller, it is highly recommend to talk to the seller first instead of running to the feedback forum to complain about the situation. In many cases, the seller would be happy to correct the situation, hopefully to your satisfaction, as they probably would not know there was a problem unless you notify them.

I am sorry that combining 2 comics into 1 bag and board offended you so much, it was not my intention. I would have been happy to mail you replacement copies, send you money for bags/boards/inconvenience fee, or honestly, if you really pushed, I probably would've refunded your entire purchase price and let you keep the comics free of charge. I am not sure if you felt that it was your sworn duty to "warn" the other buyers about me with the feedback you left, or you were just shocked at the situation. Honestly, I have done this before, and you are the first buyer in my selling history to complain about the practice to this extent. I understand this doesn't change the situation but I mention it only to give you an idea of where I'm coming from.

The way eBay works, I can only leave you positive feedback for this transaction, and I am not interested in doing that. Your feedback has already resulted in lost sales, and I will continue to lose potential sales for months. Feedback is an optional process and I am not required to leave feedback. If that upsets you, I apologize. Please look to other sellers in the future for your comic needs. Good day.

Thank you again for trying to ruin my sales, you are a trooper!

  7.

Going to add onto this by stating that the ebay member above, lifeiswhatyoumakeit2012, has a secondary ebay account under the ebay name of joel.elad .

He is also a member here on the boards under his name Joel Elad.

Yeah, I don't know what you are talking about, but "lifeiswhatyoumakeit2012" is NOT my eBay account. I have the one account, joel.elad, that I've had since 1996. I'm not sure where you're getting your information, but it's incorrect. My original eBay id was elad@best.com, then elad_best_com (when eBay said e-mail addresses weren't allowed anymore), then joel.elad.

Oh, there were a number of Danny Elfman signatures that were gotten, though most were on magazines. My other Elfman sig is on a Batman comic, but I wasn't in a hurry on that one. The Simpsons was too cool not to get rush graded. :)

I was thinking about coming down there for this too didn't think anybody was going to get anything signed

Well, we had zero idea anything would get signed until the event was over. Thankfully he was in a willing mood and the organizers were cool with it. (Plus the other fans didn't get out of hand) We can never advertise something like this because of the lack of guarantee of getting anything done.

  9. Recent pickup that got graded in Chicago: Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson) from back in ECCC, Bill Morrison signature/sketch, and Danny Elfman (came up with the Simpsons theme music) in a RARE appearance recently!

    .

I was wondering if anybody got a Danny Elfman nice Joel

  10. Charlaine Harris, author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels.

Very nice. When I approached Charlaine with an IDW comic years ago, her reps (and her) politely told me that she wouldn't sign it because it wasn't *HER* work directly. Never tried again after that incident. Congrats!!!

  11. I just purchased a lot of Walking Dead entertainment weekly magazines that came out this past summer. I hope to get all 3 signed and CGC SS'd this year. My question to you guys is....if there are no photo variant comics available....would you rather a celeb sign a photo cover magazine....or a comic with their comic character on the cover??

Personally I would only want to have a celeb sign something with their photo on it....and can't justify a Norman Reedus signed WD comic....but that is just me....

    preferences?

In this particular situation, I'd go for a photo cover magazine mainly because Norman Reedus character on the show, Daryl Dixon, currently is not in the comic.

  12. The new jewel of my collection: (thanks to Adam Estrella for getting this one done by the actors)

SIGNED BY: Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira, Scott Wilson, Melissa McBride, Laurie Holden, Greg Nicotero, Chad Coleman, Robert Kirkman, and Tony Moore

  13. Last I knew he won't sign the Dynamite Army of Darkness comics because he doesn't get paid for likeness rights. I'm not sure if that is still the case though. I was able to sneak a few past him last year, cool guy to meet though. When I met him he took a few minutes with each fan and would take cell phone pics with everyone as well (didn't charge)

He still doesn't want to sign Dynamite comics, but some have snuck by him, some when they first started publishing, and then over the years... Sometimes, he won't sign a Dark Horse book by mistake, but he's extremely nice to meet in person. I just met him today to get a signed photo for a friend of a friend. He wasn't allowing pictures when you meet him, but at a lot of shows, he does allow it for a small fee. I will probably bring him a Dark Horse Army of Darkness comic at Wizard World Austin in a few weeks...
