  1. Miles Morales: Ultimate Spiderman 1 (Fiona Staples Variant) CGC 9.6 about to go for a monster amount on Ebay. Last sale was $3,550 in March. Current bidding is at $3,600 with 3.5 days left of bidding. Might go grab a Peterson variant if this is going to the moon.
  2. In all honesty, the only reason I posted negatively was because this was my biggest ever comic book purchase and felt like I'd been wronged (even in a small way). I suppose it's a grey area as most people have stated. If it were a $100 purchase, I wouldn't have cared. I probably should have just contaced him first though.
  3. For future reference, are newton rings considered official defects? I saw some people say they weren't and some that did. I'm curious as I intend to buy more slabs and want to be a bit more informed. Thanks
  4. No problem. I'm always willing to hear feedback and it was clearly in favour of the seller. That was the whole point of the thread. These grey areas of selling and buying are difficult to navigate. I was really surprised how triggered people got though. There was no need for 'blocking' and name calling. Once I spoke the seller, he calmed down and we worked it out.
  5. This is now rectified with the seller. Thanks for those who gave constructive responses. I really appreciate it.
  6. Hi Steve, Based on the extreme reaction here, I'm taking down the negative feedback. I wasn't aware of there being serious implications to the seller. I've never had an issue with an ebay item, ever. I'm not a seller on ebay so I only know one side. This was nothing vindictive. Ebay just asked me for my feedback and I gave it. I've spoken to the seller to rectify this. The reason for posting on the cgc forums was for feedback. I've got it now and will adjust accordingly. I'm surprised how aggressive people are with their responses though. Jesus Christ, I'm not Putin.
  7. I've bought plenty of raw books. This cost a lot of money plus import charges. I hope you can understand the disappointment. Like I said, I'm taking the negative feedback down based on the responses here. I will say, most people I thank for their feedback but your response is just childish. I don't think I've been unreasonable with my thoughts. Maybe I've jumped the gun and left negative feedback too quickly but this can be changed. It's not like I've shot the seller or something. Let's put this in perspective.
  8. Calm down. This is the first ever defect / issue I've ever had on ebay. There is nothing vindictive about it. This is not something I believe can be missed but am willing to give the benefit of the doubt and take the negative feedback down.
  9. Thats cool. I can do that. I've never had an issue with an item before so this is a first for me. I'll take it down
  10. Thanks for the response. Appreciate it. I'm willing to be reasonable about this. I am genuinely concerned about how many people in this thread think this behaviour is acceptable though. I don't think there malicious intent either but that's irrelevant if there's a defect. Much like if you buy a piece of clothing, if there's a hole in it, you return it or ask the reason for the defect. This is a consumer right and should de defended.
  11. I'm willing to remove the negative feedback, that's no problem, but I just don't appreciate people being upfront about stuff like this. This is a very expensive item with additional costs like import duty (something the people from the US rarely need to pay). Literally this is the whole point of feedback. If you don't provide a good or service stated in the advertisement, why would I not give negative feedback?
  12. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ULTIMATE-FALLOUT-4-CGC-9-6-1-st-Appearance-Miles-Morales-SpiderMan-3990312001-/203832379027?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 When I looked through the pictures I couldn't see any defects. The cert number checked out and negotiation was smooth. To be honest, the advertisement seemed fairly standard, so there were no red flags. Could the newton rings have appeared because of poor shipping? Can a comic ever move whilst inside a slab or something? For the life of me, I can't spot them in the photo.
  13. Thanks for the response. If you are a seller, aren't you supposed to flag any defects a slab might have?
  14. Hi, I'm fairly new to buying slabs and have recently bought a UF4 9.6 on ebay. It was delivered fine and the condition of the case was fine. The problem was the newton rings covering a small section (maybe 1inch x 1inch) right in the middle of the front cover. It's been 3 weeks since I got back from holiday and only just saw this. There was no note of this in the advertisment whatsoever. Does anyone know if I have any recourse through Ebay? Thanks James
  15. I think they'd have to be incredibly cautious if they did move forward. They don't want this to become the Will Smith show. Miles Morales is going to be popular even if a nobody (with talent) plays him. Why take the risk when Jaden wasn't a popular casting in the first place?
  16. I would assume so. This has backfired horribly for him. No way Marvel move forward with Jaden and the abusive father. There's much better options out there anyway
  17. Early keys like Ultimate Comics Spiderman 2, 3, 4, 5 as well as Miles Morales: Utlimate Spiderman 1, 2 and 3 (in the variants) have barely any submissions on the CGC census. Considering what the Miles Morales character could be and the importance of these books, you can pick some of these up at very affordable prices.
  18. Whether Miles is a derivative or not, the character has caught on. He's cooler than Peter Parker and is completely devoid of the expectations. Yeah, he may not ever be more popular than Peter Parker, but who cares? Investing in Miles' grails and keys now is a low risk move. People have accepted him as a legitimate character, prices as a result are being accepted at higher levels without steep declines (the tell-tale sign of pump and dump speculation). If Miles' UF4 prices were being studied by stock traders, they would see a clear staircase leading up over years, which is a sign of quality. I don't care what people say, study the price charts. Just because something is expensive doesn't mean it's going to drop in price because people want it to. In fact, it will probably do the opposite as everyone is waiting for the dip. This is the exact reason for staircases in price charts. At the moment, people are petrified that inflation will destroy comic prices. While there may be some fluctuation, I think people are going to be left in the dust with Miles, especially his early keys that are a little more afforable. Over the last week I've seen Ultimate Comics Spiderman 1 (Miles' origin) go for $940 USD and $1100 USD on ebay and mycomic shop. I think his more affordable earlier keys are rising in value and keys from the current run are definitely increasing in price (because of the introduction of legit new characters and villians). Seeing Miles Morales Ultimate Spiderman 1 Staples variant CGC 9.4 and Ultimate Comics Spiderman 1 (Miles' origin) CGC 9.8 going for 50-100% above FMV (in the last 7 days) can give you an idea about how people value Miles.
