  1. Try again. That failed. Drotto just blew you away. I'm not trying to pump up Disney stock - I got no horse in that race. I'm defending female centered movies from the slander I see on this thread. And drotto just explained why the firing of this executive had nothing to do with female centered movies. I'm perfectly ok if you want to say Disney has financial problems because of bad cost management. That cuts against the argument that they are suffering due to female centered movies.
  2. You guys aren't on the same -script any more. Capra meet drotto. Drotto just took you to school. He is taking the same position now that I took up thread. She was a poor manager, Disney fired her for that reason, and this had nothing to do with female centered movies - which is what we are discussing. The rest is just your feelings.
  3. Who wants to go to Disney World? Florida is a terrible state and Disneyland is much better.
  4. Again, I don't speak this code. My "conjecture" is the same as yours: She has poor management skills ... at least according to press reports that state Disney has a vfx crisis (and she is in charge of vfx) and vfx employees think she is abusive. I have no idea what you mean by "An activist" but I am positive she was not fired because she was a supporter of gay or women's rights. She hasn't sued that I know of. Again you are off-topic and have lost the thread.
  5. Another swing and a miss. What do you think I am dismissing based on feeling. My position is she was fired for not fulfilling her duties with VFX and other managerial failures, not because of female centered movies. From further up thread: You have entirely missed the thread of this conversation.
  6. He did. And I responded. You must be one of the "cool kids"
  7. You just swung and missed. So much for credibility. You are spamming this thread and wasting everyone's time.
  8. How would you know? Must be embarassing if you can't explain.
  9. I just pointed out a post to you on the same page regarding Executives. You aren't serious. Go down your own rabbit hole and read the posts. You have no arguments in response to anything I've said. Total fail.
  10. Sorry, I don't speak this code. What is "RSM"? Whose "accountability" are you talking about? What ladder are you referring to?
  11. You came late to this part of the discussion and you need to read the posts. poor creative choices (character logic, plot holes, objective measures) - Already addressed extensively above. Go read my many posts, to much to paste here. bloated budgets, higher ticket costs, lower ticket sales, delays, re-writes, re-shoots - Aside from no one in this part of conversation has provided specific examples of "bloated budgets", we've already addressed the grosses, economics, delays, etc. Again, read above - too many to paste here. executive firings - That is addressed above on this very page and on prior pages! You are being too lazy for me to waste my time in finding you the answers. They are all above.
  12. You are on -script with Caepra, but you'll have to do better than that. Tell me what "fact" has been ignored and I'll respond or paste in my prior unrefuted responses.
  13. This is just another overwrought statement of your feelings with no supporting analysis. Feel free to tell me which specific statement I made above in addressing the points you seem to think are important was deficient. Better yet, quote it, tell me why its deficient, and I'll get back to you. I'm not going to guess at whatever you think I haven't refuted.
  14. Opinions differ on the movies. Some folks opinions may be driven by political views we are not allowed to address. But all the issues you mention have already been addressed by me and those points stand unrefuted. Feelings are nice and they can lead to good decisions in various areas like matters of the heart etc. But facts matter more in other areas like this.
  15. Executives get ousted. It happens. Harder now if you are a volatile personality as she was all edged to be. Seems like she was not handling vfx well. Good reason to let her go regardless of anything else. Has she sued?
  16. You can lead a horse to water … Get back to me if you want to substantively address my points instead of relying upon “I’m right because my internet buddies echo my views.”
  17. I am sure that Iger appreciates that NYT used that descriptor, but that is pretty meaningless. Disney is trimming its workforce and other costs. Do you think that is unusual in business? This is not a Twitter or other tech company situation.
  18. All are addressed above. I realize you are ignoring my arguments you find difficult to address but I did think you were reading them at least.
  19. Disney has 220,000 employees. That is only 3% of its workforce. We are not talking Elon Musk style failure here. Disney is a massive conglomerate. The firsr cuts I read about were in its “meta verse” division. Seems like this is appropriate cost cutting that trims excess, not the kind gutting of a company we see elsewhere.
  20. Facts are not determined by a vote. If your opinion is unfounded it does not matter if others on the internet share your incorrect views. If you cannot construct a valid argument for your opinions other than your feelings, you risk looking like someone who is acting irrationally. That’s just the way it is.
  21. You are ignoring the “why” as to grosses and audience numbers being down. Is it MCU specific or industry-wide? It is industry-wide. Which means your whole argument just fell apart. Especially when MCU outperforms the industry. Four of the top ten for 2022. Ant-man Wasp is the third highest grossing film of 2023. Your comparison of past and present ignores the industry-wide forces in play now. It is apples to oranges. Entirely irrational.
  22. Good point. This has also gotten repetitive and increasingly vague. I’m done.
  23. And I would point out that if Marvel viewed the movies as financially unviable they’d stop making them - which they are not. Compared to all other studios Disney/Marvel hit it out of the park on top grossing films in 2022. Beating out many vfx heavy films. I think we can safely say they are better situated than most everyone else.
  24. Very poetic. But unsupported by facts. When you had four of the top ten grossing movies in 2022 people aren’t leaving. Or if they are it is due to industry wide forces. I’d appreciate less speculative poetry and more acknowledgment of the facts and reality.
  25. So you have no statements they have lost money, just speculation (which ignores the licensing and other related revenue streams Disney makes off a movie). Get back to me when you can put some meat on the bone of your argument.
