1 year seems very long. Not sure I fancy it out of my hands for that length of time! Will check with CGC in London if that’s the case and will leave if not. I know they have to ship to the US which adds on time, but 1 year!! Think Heritage seems the best best to sell to the USA and minimise my risk of anything going wrong. Guessing a seller won’t walk away on it for the sake of a $100 dollar case

I was thinking of them as the best way to sell. Ebay UK has a more limited market and I just dont fancy selling it internationally on Ebay. Looking on line at historical sales it appears they get market value so will give them a call, thanks

Just called them and Im amazed to get it reslabbed and insured to go over the US is only £36, a bargain! I think this is because it wont be regraded so pretty quick. London for me is about 10 hours round trip, so with train, tube etc that about £250 but I suppose cheap when Im looking at a $35kish book. Still not sure if anyone who buys it cares though?

Good point about the loft. I didnt mention its a conversion, so in effect a room thats cool/ ventilated. Plus if the temp here ever gets above 20 degrees even in the summer its a miracle. Thanks for the post though that could have been about $15k withering its way out of the book otherwise so the thought is appreciated

Hi guys, I’m new here, not much of a forum type person, keep myself to myself, but I need some advice from those who know and here seems the place so have signed up. I’m in England and have a very modest collection that I’ve collected over the years. I have a few keys in there and they, like the majority of my collection, are unslabbed. I do have a few graded ones though. The crown jewel in my collection is Amazing Fantasy 15 CGC 3. I know it wont set the world on fire but to me to its very special. About 10 years or so after deliberating for months (and after a few beers one night to tell the truth) I bit the bullet at bought it off eBay for $5000. A lot of money to me at the time and by very far the most I had spent then or since. Obviously I’m glad I did and the comic gods have looked very kindly down upon me since. The problem is that I because of its value I just don’t have it displayed any more, I’m just too scared of it going if I was burgled. Its actually now sitting at my parents in the loft (attic as you call it) in a box, behind a box, buried in a box, hidden by boxes etc etc, so I think its maybe time to sell as thats no way to treat a comic like this, Im not even getting to enjoy it anymore and it lives a separate life from the rest of my comics. My problem is that I’ve just noticed the case has a small crack on the front! Now its not opened so the grade is still in tact, its clearly cosmetic and you don’t notice it at first but its there and now I cant help but notice it!. I’m just wondering if you think this would effect any sale price? My logic is that for a book under $1000 then maybe, but due to the sale cost of this book (prob $35k ish, more by the time Ive sent this post) the buyer wont care as a reslab is a very small percentage of the value, and the case its in is not important in a way a lower value comic may be. Just to stress, its 100% NOT opened and purely a cosmetic thing so its still a safe CGC 3 if it went away to be re cased as I assume they would just swap cases?. I’ve put on a few pic to show you. The reason I’m not wanting to recase this isn’t because I’m tight, its just that grading with CGC in England is a nightmare and involves risk I don’t want to take shipping a comic of this value and also the insurance cost here is prohibitive to ship. If it means the sale price would be less though I would do it.. What are your views? Thanks in advance
