  1. So im just thinking out loud, who thinks modern needs their own section? I think it would be beneficial to both the lovers and haters of the current modern market. threads could be: 1. 1970 and earlier (Gold/Silver) 2. 1970-2000 (bronze/copper) 3. 2000+ (modern) 4. misc
  2. I agree the book looks great ! Unlike the Qualified label, where the flaw is overlooked in the grade, the Purple label does not seem to ignore the flaw. My opinion of course but I have called for grader notes on some of my plod submissions. A crease with a CT was still noted as a crease. A tear seal was still noted as a tear. Maybe a trim is still graded as a piece missing ? How CGC grades a PLOD is very vague to me. There are also often differences in sheen, texture, and gloss that cant be seen in scans that will drastically affect the grade.
  3. Awesome books, but they should not be noted in the pedigree field since they arent pedigrees. The collection field was already filled in where it should be.
  4. Since he's not going to make good on his prior deal, I volunteer to buy all of his Sam Kieth books at the cost of services just so we can all be done with it. Back of the line, late nerd.
  5. This is the same guy who I responded to with a big long list (30-35) of books he was looking for, gave me no response whatsoever (not even a no) and proceeded to "remove himself from this topic" without so much as a word. He's already shown that he does what he wants when he wants and could care less about anybody but himself. He came in with guns a blazin' If he goes on the list i vote we redirect his kieth books to me.
  6. Dunno if its being talked about elsewhere, but holy mess! do not look directly at this book
  7. But, but, but, omg how will we get him off the list?
  8. Man, ive been hooked on starcrack way too long.
  9. When we started worrying about how ups could get off the list before they were even added i started wondering the same thing. Reality is, the probation list is no longer the warning it once was. Its just a strongarm tactic to force someone into completing a transaction. It could serve both purposes, but i guess we as a community have groomed it to operate this way.

  11. That would have been awesome...I still haven't been able to add any signed Kirby book to my collection. I have a friend having major surgery friday morning, we did her big "last meal" last night. I was having such a good time, that i totally forgot to bid. Im still pretty bummed.
  12. Im so sad i didnt win the kirby signed copy.
  13. One of my earliest Marvel purchases from when I was a kid. It still brings back great memories.
  14. Nintendo nostalgia fever took over. Sorry, dudes. Is it too late? This was my fuel for controller smashing.
  15. So what's the trick? I've tried several different slabs and they all have the same glares in almost the same places. I've also tried putting something under different edges of the slab to angle it on the glass. I can't get rid of the glare. Im not sure. I do occasionally get the glare at the bottom (only on new wells), but only when i scan on the lowest settings for registry scans. I do my scanning straight from photoshop, since my hp software wont work at all anymore. Regardless, ive never gotten glare in the middle.... One theory i have is some sort of grease/grime/film on the inside of the scanning glass. Mine is starting to show signs of something accumulating on the inside, maybe yours is farther along and causing the light to refract? Just a thought. One day i will clean mine, but it looks like a PITA.
