  1. Only because they were stupid. Yes, multiple instances of solid 'shilling' evidence by a major hobby player is stupid.
  2. I wish i had the little sherlock with bubble pipe smiley, or the see/hear/speak no evil one.
  3. Hey, it doesn't need it to be someone important complaining about a given grade to get their book bumped up. A while back there was a guy who wasn't happy with the grade his AF # 15 got and he was complaining about it on the boards. After everyone telling him that he just had to accept it, they were proven wrong by the head of CGC taking it in for a review and giving it that bump. If CGC have done that in the past for a regular customer, why do people think they'll have a problem with giving a bump to a book because Matt Nelson couldn't get the expected grade after a press? A better question is, why do people think this wasnt already happening. If there is collusion between CI and CGC (im not saying there is) it started over 10 years ago. Well, most threads bashing Matt Nelson have mysteriously disappeared.

  5. I guess the vote would determine if the offered restitution is reasonable.
  6. It seems to me that these rules are insufficient and need to be modified. 1) 100% of the power to remove the accused from the PL lies with the accuser(s). If the accuser chooses not to request removal, the accused stays on the list. That is the rule? This makes no sense to me. There should be a method for the accused to get off the list if an honest attempt to rectify the situation is made. 2) What does "satisfaction" mean? This is too nebulous. Someone might receive restitution, but still not be satisfied for various reasons. 3) Why is there no time limit for automatically being nominated to the HOS? Issues should be resolved quickly. Waiting months or even longer seems to defeat the purpose of a PL. So, I guess my point is, why not modify the rules to reflect reality, rather than constantly having to discuss what should and should not be done because the rules are insufficient and unclear? Again, I agree with this 100%. As I had mentioned earlier when I was trying to phrase the collected opinions on the PL Rules I was not expecting that boardies would take another boardie hostage after they tried to make amends. I think this simple modification to the rules (in blue) would solve all these problems. What do you think? I think D looks good. At the very least it should take a hell of a lot more than 51% to get off the list should it come to a vote.
  7. If a seller screws up badly and the byproduct of that screw up is a disgruntled customer who holds a grudge then the blame lies solely with the seller. If sellers don't want grudges held against them then they shouldn't screw up. Simple. Even if they attempt to make it right down the road. Even if they go above and beyond in trying to make it right. The hard feelings that the customer has are directly because the seller screwed up in the first place. DON"T BE A SCREW UP! Exactly!
  8. It should be no different than posting an ill take it and not paying. If throw up and never pay, i havnt taking anything that isnt mine so by your logic is just all good. 3rd party opinions should have no influence whatsoever. It is up to the wronged parties and only the wronged parties to decide the fate of the person on the list IMO I know that if i put someone on the list and im not ready for them to come off, i would be being a hell of a lot less polite than the two people in this instance. There wouldnt be much of a discussion about it.
  9. I like Brent and will do business with him regardless of the outcome, but the removal from the PL is pretty simple. If Logan510, who was one of the accusers and he is not satisfied with his results, then there is no current recourse - no waiting period, no voting. Very similar to how another on these boards has not let one individual be removed from PL. IMO, this is a gap in the way it works. If you get on the PL, you should be able to get off the PL. Otherwise what's the difference between the PL and the HoS? EDIT: looking at 2d: "d) If reasonable additional expenses are incurred the accuser may include them as part of the resolution. The validity of "reasonable additional expenses" may be subject to discussion." This assumes that there's a resolution. If someone can just refuse to accept anything, no matter how reasonable, how is it supposed to get resolved? Being on the PL isn't an absolute bar to selling, it's only there to give others a head's up regarding past -hattery by the listed member. They could explain in their sales thread that they are unable to get off the list because the complainant refused to agree to removal after reasonable efforts were made by the offending party, and it would be up to the prospective buyers to decide whether to buy or not to buy. Although in practical terms, a sales thread from a PL member would be thread-krapped rather than just ignored. Yeah, I guess I'm just not feeling the permanence option. If everyone else is good with it, I'll just try extra hard not to get myself on the list. For perspective, there is at least one person on the HOS list for a lesser offense.

  14. Let's just cut to the chase here. I spoke with povertyrow tonight whilst in the middle of a fantasy football draft and he has really done his due dilligence working on this. A seller screwed me on a deal earlier this year and was added to the probation list I then later found them selling on eBay with a new account. Same small town in Oklahoma and they had a link to photos in their photobucket account within the description of their auction. Same full name of the decietful seller was the folder which contained their photos! Povertyrow contacted me today with some questions about this seller and I told him all I could as I'm more than happy to out this rat yet again although I'm still in the dark as to their new identity here. I'll go ahead and say it here as I probably should have before to warn buyers: probation list member WDMarvelComics = eBay seller "moderncomics" = William Blas of Noble, Oklahoma. Is there any way to note his current eBay ID alongside his board name in the probation list? He's had at least three ebay IDs including "toppstiffanycollector". I'm not sure if he has another board identity but he hasn't posted here as WDMarvelComics since our failed transaction. The irony of Topps Tiffany Collector being read as Topp Stiff Any Collector drips. Drips i tells ya.
  15. Topcitycomics comes very highly recommended from me! (thumbs u Thanks!
  16. I doubt it was for an unreleased toy or at least that it was made by toybiz since toybiz would have every add page.
  17. Most of the people i see driving up the prices of the common are issues are people who just want to read the story. Season 2 ended, they didnt have another episode to watch the following week and they really wanted their walkin dead fix. They went in droves to comic shops and ebay with no knowledge of value, printruns etc and most that come to the shop have no idea what a trade paperback is. I think once the majority of the people who fell in love with the show have their DVD box sets and read the story, the common issues will crash (ive already seen a huge slowdown vs last winter), but issue 1 will likely be a key for a long time.
