Seems there’s a lot of negativity from both sides and has caused a lot unnecessary stress. I can confirm that @M_Ndreuhas had his books found by Mike as of today. The negative comments here really just did not help and made me think I would never hear or know about my books ever again. Stuff happens to people. It’s easy to assume the worst. Let’s let the man try and get back on his feet at least before we start kicking him while he’s down in the dirt. Again thanks for reaching out to me Mike
Any negativity towards Mike is what he earned via his actions and lack of actions.
He had all kinds of time to fix things before it got to this point.
Sympathy and empathy can wait until this mess is cleaned up...as much as it can be.
I don't have a problem giving credit to Mike for returning some peoples books that is obviously a good thing.
And I do hope more book get returned.
This situation is about nothing else than Mike making things right.
Any goodwill that did exist previously was burned up by Mike.
Some books being returned doesn't change that.
Once all books that can be returned are returned then Mike can work on bettering himself and I truly hope he achieves that,.

damn as much as Mike has been able to fix some issues there is still a bad side here at the end of the day per Sauce Dog's comments
i feel bad for those victims
use any and all tools and resources available to get some kind of resolution

that sounds like wytchkraft !

I know in previous poasts I have discussed books being returned but I don't think I specifically mentioned that my books were returned weeks ago.
At that time we were still waiting for some other folks books that were supposed to be in process for return and it seemed better to stay on the down low while things played out.
The books I got back appear to be the same books I originally submitted.
I think 2 of the 4 books might have gotten a little corner are stress from shipping as they were not packaged the best but otherwise they seem to be in the same condition as when I submitted them.
Hopefully those things can be pressed out.
Getting the books back after there was a good stretch of time that I thought the chance of getting them back was 0% was a bit surreal.
Again big thanks to Saucedog for stepping up and really being key in getting books returned.
I am very grateful for his time and effort in this situation.

I was about to poast that this thread got stale but now I see some new activity!
Roadhawk84 I am really sorry to see that you got caught up in this situation.
That's a tougher spot to be in if your book is showing up as sold but at least there is a trail to follow.
How did you find out about this thread?
There have to be some others out there who might not be aware is my guess.

If you are a long term customer of that bank or company and your credit rating is strong that can also yield a better outcome.
Also having multiple accounts with the same bank or company factors in.
They do like low risk long term customers.
I also expected there would be a shorter time frame to take action on a claim...but if they are rolling with it then no reason to stop the process.
It's time to review my terms and conditions to know better these things.
I have to also say the credit companies may like low risk long term customers...but they really love customers who might be higher risk and carry a balance long term and get dinged with late fees and etc
Those are the "good" customers. 🤩

Hi all:
I have some big books with Mike. I am pursuing all legal remedies to resolve this situation.
If you are in the same situation as me, please send me a pm and join me.
Enough is enough.
Thanks.
are you able to share anything more specific as to which books? were they submitted for restoration or for cleaning and pressing?

Saucedog deserves much thanks for putting time and effort into helping some people get their books back.
He didn't have to help out at all but thankfully he went above and beyond.
Hopefully more books get returned.
The wildcard here is always going to be Mike.
It's possible that KindaMistyish and Mike both have addiction issues.

ZappedMoose9995 I am really sorry to see what happened to your books.

Fraud, negligence, misappropriation of property, theft.
That's quite a collection.
I am not a lawyer so idk if these specific crimes were committed so I am only speculating.
He was working hard at not working on books though that does seem to be apparent.
Do we have a new total on how many people were victimized?

Spoke with contacts again today and got clarification from them regarding some of the important stuff:
- There is no hard evidence that any customer books have been sold yet, however due to the proximity of these contacts in Mike's life they strongly felt worried this is a very real possibility based on knowing him personally. They did mention there are several other comic stores / dealers in the Corvallis area, so those able to do so might want to check with those businesses (this is out of my hands).
- The large amount of contempt of court charges you were all curious about are not all related to this current incident, those are something else entirely different regarding past actions (so best not to jump to any conclusions about charges when we don't know which is which).
- Some customers have expressed that they are currently looking into legal action; I am not your point of contact for that - I just happen to be the one everyone seems to be reaching out to, so if you are looking for other fellow American's to go in on any sort of legal action or discussion please put out a call in the thread, or reach out to people via DM, and start your own discussion.
We need to find those stores and contact them see if Mike showed up with some books for sale.
Will that alone resolve this mess no I don't believe it will but doing nothing is not an option.
Maybe it yields more information maybe it yields books maybe it yields nothing worthwhile.
But I would rather try and get nothing than look back and wish I had tried.

Yes - and I apologize for saying we haven't seen evidence that he sold your books earlier in the thread. While we still haven't seen evidence of it, I don't think we can give him the benefit of the doubt on anything, any longer.
Another thought that's occurred to me, opening a store doesn't just happen. It takes, time, commitment and money. He had to move all that stuff, price things, set up payment systems and so on.
How does he have the time, energy and money to do that, but he can't finish pressing and shipping books?
Forget pressing and finishing the work he was paid to do, why can't he simply find the time and money to ship people's books back?
Unfortunately I'm beginning to fear the worst. His health certainly doesn't seem to be holding him back. If he can't ship the books back, I can only conclude he no longer has them.
The whole situation really sucks.
I really want to know what happened one way or another as I am sure everyone here does.

wow there is some interesting new info in this thread
at this time idk for sure if Mike sold my books or any books but it can't be ruled out
after seeing the pics of this shop and of Mike and learning more about his situation sure i can see other possible reasons why books were not shipped back
but Mike never said books were relocated to a shop or gave any info that he doesn't have access to them or etc
he simply said they were on the way or said several times that he would ship them and he never did
this story has many twists and turns
Hero Restoration, Anyone know the latest?

the reason I poasted this and the reason I think it fits is because Kilgore says that line with regret
he's in his element and is expressing disappointment
i am still hopeful all possible books that can be returned actually get returned
and am still hopeful people who are out funds get the funds back but that is a tougher hill to climb
