Why are the prices on this so high? Like 10x #2 or #4.

Basically because of the first appearance of Doctor Aphra. For this, I guess because it was the last printed series of this issue. Seeing that the 2nd print had 34.000 copies, the 3rd ~7.000,  I'd say it has also the lowest print run, so it makes it "rare".

  2. Hello there!

I finally found this book in a really nice condition. It lays flat, nice glossy cover, no color rub, but there are a few tiny ticks on the spine. (It was probably me, when I was taking it out of the bag. I was a little bit clumsy, shame on me.) They look bigger on the photos - for my eyes at least - than they actually are. Also, I think that maybe a pressing could be helpful because of the upper left corner. I would really appreciate your opinion about it's grade.

    Thanks in advance!

  3. Hello there!

I have this nice copy, but it has some minor (or not so minor) flaws, tried to show everything on the pictures. Lays flat, sharp corners, nice glossy surface, no fingerprints. It has a tiny but long line close to the edge at the right top/middle area, which I just realized it's not part of the cover... Also, there's a small spine tick on the front, and a few tiny on the rear. What could be the highest possible score on this?

Thank you, if you spare a moment for this! :foryou:

  4. Hello there!

My name is Szabolcs - Hungarian name -, a graphic designer for years, and just getting into 3D modelling.

I'm an absolute newbie to comics. I started collecting a few months ago, and right now I'm only searching for Star Wars books, because that's what I'm interested in. I was always curious about comics, always liked to collect things, but as a kid I couldn't afford much, so I guess I'm compensating it now. (Who knows, maybe my next hobby will be buying super expensive lego kits, or wh40k figures...) I already made some bad purchases (and some really great ones too), so I'm on the way of learning.

My avatar sums me up pretty much, but generally I consider myself as a cheerful person. My first post went in a wrong topic, so I hope I'm at the right place now :)
    Have a nice day everyone!

You will not receive a NM+ 9.6 with the corner bend which appears to break color, the overall condition of the book will determine how much of a grade hit the book will take due to the bend/crease.

If you want an approx. overall grade I would suggest you post in the...

    https://boards.cgccomics.com/forum/42-hey-buddy-can-you-spare-a-grade/

You will need sharp/clear pics of the entire book, front/back/inside/outside of covers, spine, corners, centerfold.

9.6 NEAR MINT+  Almost imperceptible indentations are permissible, but no creases, bends, or color break.

9.4 NEAR MINT  Corners are cut square and sharp with ever-so-slight blunting permitted. A 1/16" bend is permitted with no color break.

9.2 NEAR MINT-  Corners are cut square and sharp with ever-so-slight blunting permitted. A 1/16-1/8" bend is permitted with no color break.

9.0 VERY FINE/NEAR MINT  An 1/8" bend is allowed if color is not broken. Corners are cut square and sharp with ever-so-slight blunting permitted but no creases.

8.0 VERY FINE  An unnoticeable 1/4" crease is acceptable if color is not broken.

Yes, in the meantime I realized I posted in the wrong category.
Thank you very much for the help!
