  1. Kudos to the following buyers from my sale threads (some of these kudos are sorely overdue - sorry!): Satya Gemma KingOfRulers Mr. Silvestri Thanks for the purchases! (thumbs u
  2. Kudos to deamentia for a great deal on the Eternals hardcover! Got it in the other day and can't wait to read it!
  3. You can find Chinatown for $13-$16 on eBay. I heard from his assistant (possibly his wife?) at DragonCon that Eric and Dark Horse may have to do a second printing of the book due to how well sales were going. I actually bought the very last copy that the Dark Horse booth had brought to the con (Eric was sold out of 'em before the convention). Had to get that baby signed and sketched! I read your PM and will think it over when I'm less sleepy and can think straighter.
  4. I got your "unsure" right here, buddy! Besides, there's always room for negotiation. And reading Chinatown is mandatory. The amazing part is how Eric knew what was going to happen in Chinatown years ago when he first started The Goon. Goon has a nightmare about it in the very first issue (or was it the second?). I find it fascinating that the story gestated in his mind for almost 10 years before he actually penned Chinatown.
  5. Thanks for joining the rest of us. (Guess this means you won't be buying my raw Goon back issues... )
  6. Rob was wearing a wig and doing his best Louise Simonson impression for one of the signings? I mean, that is just weird. Did you get all the sigs done or did you purchase the book this way? Who forgets that they already have Liefeld's sig on their comic? For that matter, how does CGC authenticate a book that doesn't have one of the sigs claimed to be on the book? Harrowing...
  7. Oddly enough, The Walking Dead is pretty much the only comic I can get my girlfriend to read and she loves it. I think it may be official: chicks dig The Walking Dead! (thumbs u (Although, she demands on waiting for the TPBs so that she can sit down and have one big, long read of six issues. She thinks the individual issues are too short and unfulfilling, length-wise. There should probably be a "that's what she said" joke right there. )
  8. Thanks to Dan (Par2ch) for all the great work at DragonCon with my Goon books! Needless to say, I was very pleased! Thanks, Dan! Check out the books here: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2672324#Post2672324
  9. I was going through my comics assembling stuff for my board sale (Lebowski's Longbox, check it out! ) and I came across this. Haven't seen it in a while as it was packed up ever since I moved 9 months ago, but it brings back a great memory. I was fifteen years old, attending DragonCon in Atlanta in '96 (back when there was a huge emphasis on comics) and Jeff Smith was there. I honestly had only read a couple of issues of Bone, but really liked the series. I picked up the first trade and decided to wait in line to get it signed. The wait seemed to take forever and was further punctuated by the fact that the guy right in front of me spent ten minutes trying to get Jeff to look through his portfolio. When I finally stepped up, Jeff seemed really sorry that I had to wait so long. He was very nice and talkative and gave me this great little sketch on the inside of my TPB. In fact, it makes it my first piece of OA I've ever gotten from an artist! Ahhh, nostalgia...
  10. Rick = The best part? He went back for the phone. I can't wait to see what becomes of the drastic changes in the series. Kirkman is definitely not afraid to seriously *spoon* with his characters (as evidenced by issue 48!) And yeah, that teaser for #52 sure has me wondering...
  11. And nobody tell me what happens in 50 & 51! My copy of 50 should be here tomorrow! Can't wait!
  12. Definitely pick up the TPB's and start from the beginning. By the time you finish volume one, you'll be chomping at the bit for more Walking Dead. Guaranteed! (thumbs u
  13. Thanks! BTW, Mariska Hargitay...smokin' hot!
  14. Here it is. AlleyBat Scam I just read through that entire thread and all I can say is That is one horrible human being and deserves all the bad karma that the universe will surely dole out for him. My heart goes out to VT, glad to here that there has been at least some favorable progress so far. Wow. Just, wow. I can say that in the short time that I've been on these boards, that everyone I've dealt with so far seem like pretty stand-up individuals. It's good to see this type of comradery and support shown between members, especially in rally of catching such a despicable thief. It makes me look even more forward to becoming an active member around here.
  15. I picked up #51 yesterday, but haven't read it since I missed #50. Check out what I came across while searching online for a #50 variant: http://cgi.ebay.com/Walking-Dead-50-Variant-Cover-Erik-Larsen-Image-Comics_W0QQitemZ320282887403QQihZ011QQcategoryZ99955QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247 Am I the only one who proclaims a gigantic WTF?! at that one? I can choose BIN on a couple of listings of the same comic for $10 - $15. Does this joker actually expect this to fetch such an amount as $98? Maybe he's from the future, came back in time to list the comic on Ebay, but he overshot his destination time by a few years! Which brings up a question: Does anyone see this milestone issue eventually reaching that sort of price?
  16. Love that Hellraiser book! Beautiful! I remember that series fondly. I actually have #2 signed by Clive Barker, but this was long before the days of CGC's SS (1996, I believe), so all I have is the private joy of knowing that the master of horror signed my Hellraiser book. But sometimes, that's enough.
