  1. I don't think there is one book that can encompass the entire range you are talking about... You could conceivably come up with one book for the Golden Age (1938-1945)... pick your favourite war cover Atom Age (1947-1955)... pick your favourite horror/crime/western/romance cover These two ages are quite disparate in content, in direction, and in style. I don't think there is any one book that represents both well...
  2. Batman #1... it's the first appearance of Catwoman, ya'll! ... and it's unrestored....
  3. ohhhh, as in Captain Morgan? (said as I sip vodka and Sprite! ) ha! wish I was drinking. Stopped drinking during weekdays, training for another marathon I'm training for a marathon also --- see how quick I can inihilate my liver annihilate
  4. hmmm... I would have to go with the Scrooge... Carl Barks is just awesome, and I don't even collect Funny Animal books... Those CDNPs, while cool enough, just don't attract me to pay that kind of money for one.
  5. Congrats, Cimm That's an unusual cover. Is the artist credited? yes, it is... Cover by Alvin Pearson
  6. I'm a Golden Age guy... I'll almost always take Gold over Silver. And in this case, it's definite. Captain America #1 all the way.
  7. Came in today's mail... BTW... that's a very nice copy, Theagenes! Also one of REH's that I don't have yet... Congrats!
  8. Some pulpy goodness that just hit my mailbox...
  9. KUDOS to Rich_Henn for a very nice copy of Cry For Dawn #3! Arrived quickly, packaged nicely!
  10. Detective #27... I collect Batman... got no love for the big blue doof... and investment wise... I deem them equal, seeing as how Supes was first, but Batman is bigger (commercially), and cooler, and has more appeal...
  11. Just got this in... low grade, mis-cut, and centerfold loose, but I've never seen this book with such rich cover colours... and who needs high grade anyway?
  12. This may possibly be the comic with the worst cut I own... BUT, OH! Those colours...
  13. I've had a couple of sales threads... sold a couple of things, even... but haven't had any chatter... very disappointing... it just isn't a sales thread without the chatter and graemlin posting, IMNSHO...
  14. Man, are you KIDDING me? Someone would spend that kind of cash on a Silver Age book, when they can get a higher grade Golden Age key??? No way, man... I refuse to believe it.
  15. Tec 27... just too important of a book, in ANY grade...
  16. Great score, BL! Nice pick-up indeed... you just don;t see that that nice very often!
  17. hmmmm... I think I would have to go with the Marvel Mystery... unrestored, and nice colours, and just a wee bit rarer...
  18. Some recent acquisitions... City of the Living Dead NN Fight Comics 14 Rangers Comics 28 Rangers Comics 29 South Sea Stories v01n04 (1940-08) Venus 10 Weird Terror 09
  19. More Fun #52... that is a BEAUTIFUL copy of a grail of mine. I am a long-time fan of the Spectre! And that Marvel is just too faded for me...
  20. TEC #1... 30s DC, the first issue of a LONG running title, and a GREAT cover... but, then... I'm a GA fanboy
  21. kudos to Pokerkid for a great Sinister House of Secret Love #1...
