  1. 7.5 straight up. Which is miraculous for this book!
  2. Bought this from a friend. We are both wondering what people perceive the grade to be. Probably not intending to send it in as I will never sell it, but curious nonetheless. Appreciate your time. Pictures on their way.
  3. cool....thanks for sharing. I had it at a 4.0, but so happy for you and that great book.
  4. Without looking at the others, I thought 4.0.
  5. So, the important thing that you might not be able to see is that there is a tear across the entire front cover that goes through Spidey's arm and Doom's left hand. Whoever taped it (on the inside of the front cover) did a very good job. It is very hard to see. Thank you so much for looking at this and giving me your opinion. Further....would CGC consider a taped tear all the way across as "restoration," or would it be blue label?
  6. I'm new to this, so still trying to figure out how it works, but I really wanted to thank the people who replied, especially zzutak for encouraging me to move my question into this chat forum...and for your VERY THOUGHTFUL and THOROUGH response. Thanks!
  7. Hi. I have asked this question in several different places, but the answers I get are inconsistent and seem more like speculation. I'm hoping that somebody out there can speak from experience or at least CONFIDENTLY to the question of what happens when a comic is submitted to CGC with a detached cover. I have an ASM 129 that has a detached cover. The inside of the book is probably a 9.6. Beautiful, GREAT condition. Really clean staples, etc. The cover is okay, but worn. Probably a 5.0 cover. Here is my question: If I submit the book, what will CGC do? 1) Some people tell me it will get a green label (qualified) and the higher grade (in this case, probably a 5.0 ish). 2) Others tell me, it will get the blue label and an overall downgrade (probably 2.5 here) and a notation of a detached cover. 3) Still others have suggested that I can request which of those two options I prefer (green or blue label) and that CGC will honor my request. I would like a blue label. Can anyone tell me the hard cold facts here about how this actually works. If I am going to get a green label, I do not want to send it in. THANK YOU!!

  9. Book is really great with one potential issue. Please note the Bottom staple when you look at the front cover. Thank you so very much for your time and help in grading this puppy.
  10. Hey, this book is tricky. The overall integrity is very solid, but you can see what happened on the front cover. Some books have 1/3 of the cover missing, so I guess this is way better than that. I just have no idea how this grades out. Thanks SO MUCH. I am planning to sell this bad boy raw, so if it is an okay question to ask here.....can anyone suggest a fair asking range? I always want to do FMV-10-15%. Inside of the book is very nice Thank you again.
  11. After buying a big bunch of ASM books--836 issues (#20-856 to be precise) , and being too stupid to take every single key out of the bag, I got home and found that this one had a detached cover. I'm a total insufficiently_thoughtful_person. But here I am. I imagine there is still some value here, but I am wondering what it would grade, how it would be dealt with at CGC, what my options are, etc. I would especially love to hear from anyone who KNOWS from experience about detached covers rather than speculation. So, if you are kind and generous to help, would appreciate any intel....or just a grade.
