Grades in. What a fun, frustrating competition.

I hate that this is the memory that has stuck with me all these years, but that guy really should have blown his nose before the photo shoot.

Grades in.

8.5-9.0 with the color-breaking spine ticks. I had an Avengers Annual with mysterious tiny yellow blobs of ink along the spine. Nothing that looked or felt like wear, but had no idea if it was from the printing process. Also no clue whether or not CGC would ignore the "defect" when it came time to assign a grade.

I'll second that as a 5.5 with the accumulation of wear around the edges

I shall commit no grading crimes until the proper time! Unless, of course, the proper time falls after 8pm. Then I will massacre some 6.0s and submit ahead of the proper time.

1.8 seems a bit harsh for how the book presents. 3.0 would be great but who knows what a regrade could bring?

Going 1.0 since the Guide says up to 1/4 of the cover can be missing and your interior looks decent, relatively speaking. I wonder if CGC would refuse to encapsulate it, given its fragility.

What? Something else to take my attention away from doing my taxes right now? I'm there, dude. OK, time to get back to cleaning out the cracks between every floor board in the house, then it's on to taxes for sure!

Glorious...er, ah, Glamorous Romances is a 10.0 in my book.......hubba hubba! Looking forward to the next contest with the opportunity to once again put my mediocre grading skills on full display!

I appreciate your review and thoughts on a grade. Paying special attention at mid-spine and lower-spine, I don't know if this is wear or an ink printing error. For what it's worth, it doesn't feel like physical wear. Also a quirk that there are purple printer blocks throughout the interior pages of the book...maybe that's typical with this issue? Thank you.

Does it have a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time?

I gave Revealing Romances a 5.0 and Farmer's Daughter a 4.0, so I was close. For me, the RR cover had really nice eye appeal. Sure, the edges were worn and there were spine ticks, but there didn't seem to be much in the way of creasing. FD's eye appeal sucked...creasing all over the cover. Creasing where I'm wondering how/why a crease would form where it did. Also, I thought I saw more pronounced color fading on the FD cover than on the RR cover.

Grades in, each original grade second-guessed.

Sent in grades incorrectly (I don't do any direct messaging on here and I'm a helpless Gen Xer). Grades at home and I'm on the road for work so will try to remember my grades and submit.

Thanks for taking a look and providing your thoughts. Crunch at the top of the spine, color-breaking tick in the "M" and bindery tear is my guess at bottom of spine. Not sure a press to take out any waviness and flatten the crunch will really result in an appreciable boost in grade.

I'm close; maybe a bit lower...5.5-6.0.

Creases that break color put it at a 7.5-8.0?
