Thanks all for the feedback! 🙏 When I bought the book, the seller and I recognized all the pressable defects. Plan to use comicdoc in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada for the pressing and cleaning!

I've been searching low and high for an X-men 94 I would be happy with. Figured I'd only be able to afford an 8.5 or lower grade. I felt like the general grade of the 8.5s were fairly consistent from book to book and I would've been happy with any that I saw for sale. However, when my search dropped down to 8.0s, it felt like they were all over the place. Some were really quite beat up and I was kind of shocked they got graded 8.0. I started looking at lower grades and ultimately, I won an auction for a nice presenting 6.5 for much less than an 8.0 or 8.5

LOL Fair enough! I guess I meant entry level more like my "first" 94. This was the holy grail when I was collecting seriously in the 80s.

The first time that cert was swapped and custom labeled, I don't think it even left his possession. Shill bid, then swapped out that book for a lower grade, get the next custom label, then sold to a sucker. A $ bump each time. 1. Direct 9.8 slab to news stand 9.8 slab, latter worth more. 2. swap out to lower grade book and put into 9.8 news stand slab

It's not mine yet but my LCS has this raw copy. Any opinions based on just the front cover? Corners are not rounded or worn. Weird looking top left is glare. Plastic wrap at the bottom of the plastic holder. Big spine tick/crease by nefaria's head a big ding against good grade? Locally I have a few options, slabs ranging from 6.5 to 8.5 in addition to this one.

Thanks. Will delete

Would that color break to left of nefaria's head be considered a spine tick? Or it's classified as something worse?
