Got this book from Terry's Comics booth on preview night also. The guy I dealt with and talked to was not Terry but a booth worker, very friendly (Terry scares me for some reason .....don't know why....he just scares me )

Scored this book from the MotorCity booth on Sunday. Writing or marks on the cover don't bother me nearly as much as creases do, and this book is nice and tight. The writing on this cover says......" Read (Rd.) page 57 for a laugh" and I can only guess that some household had this book layin around during the war years and maybe were comunicating to other family members what they thought was funny. I could be way off.....but thats my story and I'm stickin to it. I've included scans of pg. 57 for all of you curious types
I had a hard time NOT thinking of the 3 stooges when I saw this

Picked these up from Ricky Evans on preview night at SDCC. Some Jack Cole greatness !!

I was in NYC for the bar exam and picked this up at the Time Machine...
Wow !! That cover is almost like the Justice League of Nedor (thumbs u
-
Funny you should ask...
Thanks to Ronaldo
And a book I have wanted for a very long time...
Wow Richard ! You took it out of that Fort Knox thing it was in??? I'll bet that was a thrill. Thats some Jack Cole goodness right there.
I keep thinking about that Single Series 20 you had also....

Here is a few more books that I just picked up.
I notice that there are not that many Action covers with Nazis on the front, which makes the ones that do show them extra awesome !! Flame throwers....bah. Those Ratzis are about to get what for I think.
I still need this issue of Det. Gotta love anything with the Joker on it. (thumbs u

Here is the print that comes with Nexus #1 Limited Edition.
Very cool (thumbs u

Whoa !! Thats the first issue !!
What gave it away!?!?
Dr. Strange is so........young looking

But I am also working on reader runs of Dell Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse books that I can share with my son. He loves for me to read comics to him and the Duck and Mouse books are his favorite.
Have you got this one Steve ? I have loved this story since I first owned this book back in the early 70's.

Too late for the Fun with Numbers thread but I just got this one today. I wonder if I won any money.
Whoa !! Thats the first issue !!

That is SUPER COOL Theagenes !! It must have been a thrill the first time you laid eyes on those beautiful color pics

A good day at the letter box today. Not being able to afford the big ticket items or really high grades, I'm plugging away at WDC&S 50-111 (the 1940s issues I can reasonably aspire to on my budget) in 6.0-8.0 I've gotta say that this is working for me. I'm loving these books.
You have to love those Walt Kelly covers - this is one of the best and has the first appearance of Gladstone Gander as well.
This one has just turned 60 - I can only hope that I'll be as well preserved when I get there.
Those books are really nice AJD. That grade is right up my alley. Clean, flat, and UNSLABBED !!

The hands are nicely done on Woozy and there's a Cole feel to the figures but it's still hard to be certain as he could have been just partly involved. Can't seak for the interior but I like the cover.
Yea. I agree. I think this cover is VERY Cole like. He has a certain way of drawing Woozy that is distinctive. I think its easier to see Cole in a Woozy drawing than a Plas drawing actually.

This just in from skypinkblu. I know you all saw pics of this book 20 pages back......but I wanted to add a sign that reads......"UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT"....
Thanks Sharon !!

How in the world does this guy stay in business
I bought a book off this guy once
I'll tell ya, with all the bad press he's gettin around here, I'll certainly steer clear

Picked this up in the last Clink auction, freshly liberated from its Barex prison:
Great cover. And theres something very cool about the 12c in a circle price (thumbs u Great pick up DP

You've really been workin on that run Steve. Looks great !! And you've already knocked off the first issue too (thumbs u

Just came in on the 3:14 mail delivery. I'm not sure if this one is entirely Cole......or even Cole at all.....but I like it. I have Ron Goularts "Focus on Jack Cole".....and in the list of credits, it says.....Cole ? / Kotsky ? I really can't tell either. Some pics/ panels look alot like Coles work....and some not so much. Wonder if it was a quick pencil job by Cole and finished by someone else? Anyways....I like the story. Its a good "feel" read. And I really like the condition and book

Just in from the May CL auction:
Great Police books! (and nice Green Lama JJShaffer!) (thumbs u
I just won this from Heritage's Sunday auction, and am happy to finally have a copy (even if the condition isn't great).
I've never seen one of those before !! Wow that cover is pretty shocking. The dead bodies and that soldier with the bandages is brutal.

I like these also Nice to see some Police books showing their faces around here sometimes
-
Wow.....nice score on the Batman 1
-
I guess you didn't used to whoop on him when you two were little eh?
Nice war cover
-
And the real sad part is that this is only my new stuff I just bought.
I still have to somehow fit over twice as much somewhere.
And I'm worried about the floor collapsing
Anybody wanna buy a comic???
Wow !! Bet theres not one Police comic in that whole bunch

this closes the wonderworlds run thru 7/40 [ok, ok, i'm being a little hyper-technical here as i still need wonder 1 & 2].
