  1. I'll be headed to DC tomorrow to give a paper on one of the Pulp Studies sessions. Really looking forward to it. This will be the largest Pulp session we've ever had, with five sessions and 16 papers. Just for fun I've turned my older 2011 PCA/ACA paper on Howard's use of the Atlantis theme in creating the Thurian and Hyborian Ages into a video podcast. Enjoy. Creating an Age Undreamed Of
  2. Great stuff! Any Amras or Howard Collectors in those fanzines?
  3. Picked up the sketch at Megacon last year on a trade for some pulps. We have an Egyptian theme in our living room so I convinced my wife to let me hang it if I got framed with a giclee of Egyptian Queen.
  4. Just back from the frame shop and now up on the wall.
  5. That's for sure. There is this one that sort of counts since HPL ghost-wrote the story for Houdini:
  6. You mean R.I.P. Lovecraft. What's the 'H' stand for in 'H.P.'? I'm a dumazz.
  7. These will some be framed and hanging on my office wall. Buscema with Klaus Janson inks.
  8. Thanks for the plug, Bill. Like any collection of essays, some are better than others. Here's another review by REH and Tolkein scholar Brian Murphy: http://thesilverkey.blogspot.com/2013/02/conan-meets-academy-multidisciplinary.html
  9. I would love to see the story in that Hi-Spot, great book! That's easily arranged. Here you go: David Innes/At the Earth's Core story The art is by John Coleman Burroughs, ERB's son (though the cover is E.C. Stoner).
  10. For those who might not have known, Dark Horse is coming out with a new reprint series for the Tarzan Sundays. I have all the NBM volumes but this should be a good collection (?) for those who don't First volume is in the March Previews. Price Listed at $125. Less wherever you get your discounts. Book is expected to ship end of July. I have the NBMs too, but I wonder if this will be a larger format.
  11. Here's the Sunday it comes from. Send it in to Bob There are actually quite a few Tip Top covers that are blown up Foster panels. I saw a catalog from the early 60s once---maybe Collectors or Cherokee--- that noted under their listings that these were Foster covers. So this was known back in the early days of the hobby (when people actually cared about Foster, Raymond, Caniff, et al), but the knowledge was lost at some point. I stumbled onto it by accident from reading reprints several years ago. And CGC definitely does not give Foster his due. He doesn't even get mentioned on the labels for LF 5 or SS 20. Ridiculous. Here are few other Foster source panels for Tip Top covers: Tip Top 9: Tip Top 13 Tip Top 18: Tip Top 24: Tip Top 47:
  12. Thanks. It's a Hal Foster cover, though CGC doesn't note it.
  13. Got some books back from CGC that had been sitting my collection raw for some time.
