  1. Awesome books, Josh! And I had the pleasure of seeing them in person.
  2. Thanks, Bill. I know you appreciate how cool OOTW is.
  3. You'll note that Tupenny is dressed as Frazetta's "Egyptian Queen" to help get him in the mood before we got to see a Fritz original.
  4. Neil, you were holding out?! Dude...
  5. A couple of MegaCon pick-ups. Got this tough to find book from Dale (with a early Conan knock-off): And I picked up my first early Action from Richard. Always loved this cover.
  6. Thanks for all the kind words guys. I love this piece. Thulsa is front and center. (thumbs u There was a time when Thulsa didn't look like James Earl Jones. In the comics Thulsa Doom's got a skeletal face. Crom smite me for an oaf! What i meant to say was Thoth-Amon, the Ram horned Stygian wizard! That is what I was thinking but my mead entranced mind pulled out the name of Thulsa Doom. If you made that kind of mistake on the REH forums, you would have been nailed to the Tree of Woe. Just wrote a review of the new BWS Conan Archives for The Cimmerian: http://www.thecimmerian.com/?p=12052
  7. Love the pop-ups BZ! And cool Tarzan group shot David!
  8. Josh, that is a cool book! What a find.
  9. They were printed for German-speaking immigrants here in the States. Apparently, there was a Spanish edition also. I believe there was a difference in content as well, with added material that would be of interest to German readers. The Wilhelm Busch cartoons, for example, were probably reprinted from a German newspaper. I'll try to take some pics when I get a chance. Some of these engravings are amazing.
  10. I've never owned any copies of Leslie's newspapers. If you have the time, could you post a scan / photo of any engravings you think are especially neat. Do you have any issues from the time the Statue of Liberty was being constructed? Here are few pics that I already had on my computer. I'll try and get some more later. They are all from 1872-73, so a little before the statue of liberty. Here is the front cover of one of them: This is cool - an early comic strip by Wilhelm Busch: Another comic strip: Here's a powerful one for you "Hooded Menace" fans. Sadly this isn't fiction.
  11. My favorite of the bunch! Show us your killer copy, you devil! Peer pressure is so hard to bear! Awesome!
  12. I don't have a copy of it to scan, but you may be thinking of Wonder #5. It shows the Grim Reaper busting in on Japanese soldiers machine gunning and flame throwing a bunch of American civilians into a big pit. Yeah, that's probably what I was thinking of.
  13. I've never owned any copies of Leslie's newspapers. If you have the time, could you post a scan / photo of any engravings you think are especially neat. Do you have any issues from the time the Statue of Liberty was being constructed? Absolutely. I'll try to get some up this weekend. They are the German lannuguage version and they are all from one year.
  14. Isn't there a Nedor that has a death camp cover like Cap 46 - not just a concentration camp?
  15. BZ, those pucks are just amazing. While not in color, I have a stack of Frank Leslie's Illustrated newspapers from the 1880's. Awesome engravings!
  16. I love this one. First Mixed Martial Arts cover. Boxing vs. Jiu-Jitsu!
  17. It's a fun little run. I need to do an updated group shot since I've been upgrading.
  18. Yep, and an 8.0 #3 in an earlier one. So it's time to free up the undercopies.
